anyone in DCTH? I'm long some Jun and July 16 call @1.4 and 2. CEO is doing an oral presentation of Phase 3 data at ASCO tomorrow.
I bought another 1,000 shares in RMBS at $23.20 - lets hope for some good news this week while the markets continue it's slippery slide.

Off by 80,000 jobs is a rounding error. Excuse to discount stocks. Fund managers are foaming at the mouth at all the discount.
If you take the advice of any "fund manager" when most fund managers don't even beat the S&P, I feel sorry for you.

I'm long DCTH shares...the data presented yesterday was very good, even better than the initial data they reported for the phase 3 trial back in April. FDA approval seems a given, especially since they were granted SPA and nailed all of the primary endpoints. I'd like to say shares will jump tomorrow based on this new data but with the way the market is, it's anyones guess.
looks like it took a sharp drop this AM, but I didn't see any news with that...

I sat down with Dr. Whitman for about 15-20 minutes earlier today at ASCO to discuss DCTH and other melanoma topics. He's a great guy and I really appreciate his time.
This is what Whitman had to say about DCTH:
Whitman believes DCTH's PHP system works, meaning it clears tumors from the liver. The efficacy data are quite clear.
He's also not so concerned about the kerfuffle arising from the lack of an overall survival benefit. As expected, the fact that more than half of the BAC patients crossed over muddied the survival analysis.
He similarly disregards the post-hoc survival analysis conducted by the company which compared "true" PHP patients to the BAC patients who did not crossover. That's not a meaningful analysis because BAC patients who did not crossover were likely too sick to do so. This skews the survival analysis in favor of PHP.
If DCTH gets PHP approved, the commercial market opportunity with the current data is extremely small. Whitman told me that there are no more than 1,000 patients in the U.S. with ocular melanoma who have metastatic disease confined to the liver.
Let me repeat that:
1,000 patients total in the U.S.
Now you know why i tell you to totally disregard the exaggerated sales numbers being pushed by DCTH. And why I think DCTH is an over-valued stock TODAY.
I've spoken with a couple of other melanoma experts at ASCO and they all agreed -- the market opportunity in ocular melanoma patients is tiny.
DCTH might be able to expand into other types of cancer that spread to the liver, but they don't have to data to justify that use right now.
