I got out of VHC during the spike up after the lawsuit. Thought I was being too quick about it but I guess in retrospect I made out OK.

Sorry guys.

I just doubled my stake in GNVC. Something tells me the big news is around the corner and I don't want to miss the chance to stock up. I'm not risking a whole lot of money, but I am in GNVC for the long. After the release of the 184th even data, there won't be much to talk about until 2011 and a partnership for potential distribution.

Why do I suck so bad at stocks.

I missed the Ford bandwagon and jumped on recently. As soon as I buy.... 5-7% down. Seriously, whatever I buy or sell, just do the exact opposite and you'll come out fine.

I'm like Constanza and should just do the opposite of what I think I should do - My 401K is doing well though - not that it takes a ton of skill to pick between 11 choices and then just cross your fingers

What do you guys think of Citi (C)? I liked it back around $3.40, and it spiked up to $4.20 on news that they are looking to pay back TARP soon. I would think with the hurried pace that execs are moving at to pay back TARP (so they can resume exorbitant salaries + bonuses), that C should be moving north within the year. No more TARP plus stabilized markets should mean that C could see $20-30+ share price within a couple years, correct?

I'm long too. And I agree that the big payout is late next year. Once the initial 184th data is out maybe GNVC will present at the annual ASCO again.

Also I like the fact that they aren't a one trick pony, they got some other products down the pipeline.

I would prefer Vegas in all honesty. They did not account for over 800 billion in liabilities because of new accounting methods. How does that make you feel? Roll the dice on the short, but I would not touch it for long. They still have a lot of transforming to do that will raise enough capital for their liabilities.

C has had the cash to pay back TARP a long time ago. What they need to do to raise the current PPS is to show strong earnings, and sustainable. One reason you will not see $20-30 PPS anytime soon is dilution, they have way too many outstanding shares as is, unless they want to purchase back ton of those shares.

And, if you must gamble, go with MPEL. If your target is a few years or even a year you'll be VERY happy.

I believe their CEO said about a billion more shares could be issued for C. Relative to outstanding it's not a big deal.

If you are long, anything around 4 would be fine I imagine.

CTIC trading halted today due to the FDA ODAC recommendation board meeting panel on approval of their "NHL" cancer drug pixantrone.

Board voted 0 Yes, 9 No to the question "should pixantrone be recommended for FDA approval". Main reason was that trial was not well run thus data is inconclusive (and didn't look that good to begin with). Other reasons include safety concerns (side effects) of pix.

I think richardycc called it with this old comment:

stay clear of ctic, I don't see how the FDA can approval it, with the shorten trial and only roughly only half of the people enrolled in the trial, along with the side effects....JMHO, but miracles do happen.

Thus it looks like the FDA will reject FDA approval for pixantrone on April 23rd and CTIC will need more trials on that drug.

Check out the comments on the Street's Adam F's chat from the hearing itself:

Doesn't look good for CTIC.

I think I see a pattern here, don't trust data out of Russia. I can think of a few phase 3 fails with promising phase 1-2 trials data that were conducted in Russia.

I still think we'll see double-digits this year so I haven't been watching my position too closely. The fast-money play was to sell on the morning of the verdict. Good luck.

Agreed - it still looks like it has some serious potential.

I literally sold out of GGP like two days too early. Oh well, you win some you lose some.

I traded 90% of my GGP shares for FAIRX few days ago, instead of GGP shares, I now own a tiny piece of their unsecured debts + shares and possibly some warranties, AIG, Kmart, etc and whatever else are in FAIRX. I still own 114shares of GGP and will hold on to those forever.
