I'd assume he'll be back in future rounds, but this hurts their offensive output, and I wonder how their interior defense will be since he's so good at taking charges.

Huh? He's their best big man, and as soft as he is, he does well enough within their defensive strategy.

As for Odom, nobody thought he would rescind into Khloe's vag like he did.

He's a third option scorer that can still drop 20+ points a game on a team and pull a defender out 15 feet from the basket because he has a decent jump shot. No argument that he's "soft", but there isn't a team in the league that would turn him away as a third choice scoring threat. Hell, over half the teams would take him as a 2nd option scoring threat. Plus he is long and reasonably quick which works well in Miami's defense schemes.

Very few big men are both physicially punishing defenders and offensively gifted. Bosh is the anti-Reggie Evans.

Uh, did you miss a majority of the game yesterday? The Pacers won't roll over easy. I'm hoping that they can make the adjustments and take game 2 - the objective should be to utilize their big men now. The Celtics won't roll over easy as well, particularly if Bosh is out.

The Celtics terrible on the road and the Heat are the best home team. Heat have home court advantage if they play, that will be enough to win the series. It wasn't like Bosh was going to be the key to beating the C's.

The most likely scenario for the Celtics is winning in 7, second most likely is losing in 6. Given their terrible road record losing in 6 looks likely now.

I hate the Heat too, so I hope someone knocks them off, but I don't see it happening.

The numbers aren't adjusted for Bosh going down, which I agree with him out it is certainly a negative for the Heat. I just think a team that has even a limited ability to stay in front of Lebron and Wade will cause more problems when Bosh is out. The Celtics have no ability to stay in front of Lebron or Wade.

I'm enjoying watching the Lakers get pummeled tonight. Will we see them get swept out of the playoffs a second straight year? I hope so. The Thunder are a fast young team, similar in ways to the Nuggets but with actual go-to guys. If the Nuggets could force a game 7 against the Lakers despite not having home court advantage, the Thunder would disappoint if they don't close it out by game 5.

I'm surprised at how much the Lakers are on their heels defensively. The Thunder were one of the worst teams in the league turning the ball over, but only have ONE (!) in the first half. The Lakers are reacting instead of dictating on defense. That won't work.

How does the NBA (and/or the networks) expect to get youngsters to become fans if the keep showing commercials for "Battleship", "Falling Skies", "Chernobyl Diaries" and "Prometheus" at every commercial break? They are WAY too scary for my 8 year old - he almost does not want to watch the games because of the commercials. I think they are inapproariate even for my 12 year old.

Has anyone else noticed this?

If they want the NBA to be more family-freindly and have future fans, they really need to clean up the commercials.

I use to do the same and I use to think the same for my kids until they started having nightmares from commercials.

I do not see any reason to subject them to such negative images at this point in their lives if they do not like them.
