FJax ruled out this week. Another Bills receiver goes on IR. Does that change your thinking at all? I can play Spiller as a WR in my league.
Against the Jets? Spiller isn't a good choice, though he is doing fairly well for YPC to date, but that's just because no one expects him to run it.
This week will be different. If you have no better options in WR slots, then yes, he's a viable WR since he'll be getting carries. I'd expect the Jets to shut down the run early, and limit the passing game quickly. All Buffalo's WRs can't seem to pull in balls thrown their way. The only one that HAS been doing anything is the TE Scott Chandler.
Also keep in mind Buffalo's starting center, Eric Wood, was placed in IR a week and change ago. The only "bright spot" with their offensive line is that Levitre
should be moving back to his original position - left guard (at which he excels at) - and their backup left tackle should be back (Chris Hairston - a Rookie). The Pivot will be manned by Craig Urbik, who is the starting right guard and played
some center in college. Right guard will be manned by backup OL Chad Reinhart, and Erik Pears continuing at starting right tackle.
Basically, Buffalo's o-line has been decimated, and Urbik will be playing a position he hasn't played in years. 2 starters on that line in their "natural" positions, one rookie backup at left tackle (though he had done an admirable job earlier in the season after Bell got hurt).
Long winded I know - but imho playing ANYTHING Buffalo-related, especially against an angry Jets defense, is a longshot at best.
There's a reason Buffalo has lost 3 of their last 4 games. Also keep in mind that MIAMI held Buffalo without a TD last week.
