Baseball is two weeks away!

Already have tickets for the White Sox home opener on April 7th, as well as the game on the 8th. Probably going to go on sunday the 9th and monday the 10th as well. Gonna be on overload this year. Picking up Dunn, resigning Konerko and AJ, Peavy looks healthy, this could be a great year for the Pale Hose. Reinsdorf went all in with his checkbook so I guess I will too.

Having a baby this summer so I got out of my season ticket group that I've been in the past couple years (for the Nationals, so it's not like I'm missing much ). Hopefully can get back into it next year, especially since Strasburg will be back, and maybe Harper will be getting ready. (Yes, I'm already saying "Wait till next year" before the season starts....)

As for this year, though, I'm excited to see what the Red Sox can do. If they've used the holy water or eyes of newt or whatever to prevent the injury curse, then they have the potential to be one of the best teams ever. Well, also assuming the rotation holds up... Lester and Buchholz are all I have confidence in. I am optimistic about Beckett bouncing back, but we'll see. Lackey.. I wasn't a fan of that signing last year, and he hasn't changed my mind yet, but I am open to being surprised. And of course nobody knows WTF will happen with Matsuzaka.

I think my Reds have a great chance to win the Central again, especially with Wainwright's unfortunate injury.

Brewers have good starting pitching and someone in the dugout that isn't afraid of his players. Roenicke's hands-on approach to managing a ballclub is going to be a breath of fresh air. I'm hoping for a more traditional ballclub as well; get on base and steal some bases. Move runners and score when they're on base. Their pitching should keep them in close games and, hopefully, last longer than 5 innings this year. Axford coming in with the hammer and we've got a legitimate shot at the Central.

Go Brewers! Thinking of seeing them down in NY this summer.

Buster Douglas, he was an underdog. So were the 2003 Florida Marlins. The Yankees, at best, are co-favorites. At worst, they are a second choice in baseball's best division, and a strong one at that. ...

The word "underdog" has about as much right to appear in their lexicon as the word "pauper."

No, no. Here in Yankeeland, "underdog" means they might not come in first in their division/league/universe and top all of major league baseball in every conceivable statistical category, including best TP in the luxury suite restrooms.

Did you guys see the story on the situation with former biig leaguer and current Braves minor league coach, Luis Salazar? He was hit right in the eye via a line drive hit by Brian McCann.

He just had his left eye removed but will be fine and will go back to work as soon as possible. Good for him. Scary situation but happy that Salazar is fine.

Well, he's fine, minus an eye anyway. Fuck, McCann must feel like shit -- obviously not his fault, but still. That's amazing that Salazar will be back up to managing in a few weeks.

JP Arencibia Catcher for the Jays. He has good potential. You can draft him last round likely.

its a great park and a wonderful place for family fun. last year i got to take my son to an event they have for school kids. lots of games to play and you can lounge out on the field. even run the bases. good times.
