Excellent. M's just got out of a bases loaded no out jam against Boston without giving up a run. Admittedly, the 2nd out of the double play was called wrong, he clearly got back to 2nd in time and the ump was right there. I'll take it anyway of course...

In other b-ball news, Roy Halladay started off today's game with 18 straight strikes, finished up with another complete game, and then reportedly gathered his cape and flew off to his Fortress of Solitude.

Nice win by the Mets. Pleased with Young and Beato so far this season. Can't count on Young to stay healthy but if he's on the mound I'm confident that he'll pitch well. Happy there were able to get one win and hopefully will play well at home against those Gigantes.

Unless they get offered an overwhelming package of great prospects and don't have to eat any salary, I don't see this as a good move for the Mets at all.

While I'm pretty sure the Mets aren't going to reach the post-season this year, unloading Reyes would be huge morale crusher for their loyal fans.

I know Reyes can be a free agent, which is why I think the Mets should target re-signing him now, while they still have exclusive rights.

Reyes is not my favorite ballplayer due to some of his shenanigans in previous years, but he does seem to have matured, and he remains an electric talent at a key position.

For the Mets' sake, I hope they don't trade him just for salary relief and a couple of semi-stiffs in some sad surrender monkey fashion, and I'm not even a Mets fan!
