Any other year I would say congrats to the Cards for a job well done. But after last night's game, I'm gonna have to wait until the final out. There's plenty of time left in the game, so we will see. 9 more chances for the Rangers.

Congrats to the Cards, Texas had to overcome losing game 6 twice and it showed. Good team though and I think they will be right back in the thick of things next year too..

Thinking Freese for MVP. Those 1st inning RBIs were huge, and possibly helped Carpenter settle into his game.

First congrats Cards.

I sure hope my Tigers can overcome a really hungry Texas team next year.

Congrats to the Cards.

Can't help but notice, not a single Card exec/mgr has given respect to Texas for the competition. Is there that much hatred of them?

I was checking out ESPN.com, saw the picture of the Cards celebrating, then noticed something I thought was funny.

Celebration Rimmer?

I gotta feel sorry for this guy...all this heat on him for throwing the 'series'?

Seriously? they had 7 games to win this and they are going to single this guy out...

Nah you can't blame Cruz, he is what got them there. Blame Feliz for not striking out Freese and doing his job. Blame the 41 walks Texas issued. Blame Ogando for completely melting down.

Congrats to the Cardiac Cards. Amazing year for them, and glad to see Berkman win a ring after his comeback year. And now Carpenter can tease Halladay on their fishing trip too.

GO CARDS!!!

Great time to be in St. Louis right now!

If you'll excuse me, there's a woman who wants me to take her home right now. Nolan Ryan, don't call your wife until tomorrow afternoon.

Why did Lee leave the Rangers last year?

Lee and his family had really enjoyed their previous time in Philly. He had never wanted to leave in the first place.

Even though it would be to the Phillies' possible detriment, I sincerely hope the Cards re-sign Sir Albert. After 11 incandescent years, it just wouldn't seem right to see him in another uniform.

Yep, I hope they re-sign El Hombre. Not sure where the hell he would go in any case... Anaheim? LAD? Mets? I'm sure he'd rather take a paycut and stay in St.L than go to any of those losers.

Yeah, I can't stand that whole kneejerk, shallow fanboi, find a scapegoat thing. When a team loses in a team sport, there's generally plenty of blame to go around.

Rangers: half-way to becoming the new Bills?

:hmm:

I'm not a huge fan of the second failed attempt at the Washington Senators Texas Rangers, or any team in that Junior Circuit where they employ caddies to bat for their hurlers, as if that's baseball . . . . . . but that team made it to the Big Dance two years in a row while a whole host of other pretty good teams didn't.

They have nothing to hang their heads about and no one they need apologize to for anything. The Baseball Gods are cruel and distant deities, and the Rangers made it right to the doorstep of history, twice in succession.

Baseball is literally a game of inches. You have to be good and blessed by the fates.

Rangers fans should be nothing but proud of their team. At most they were the fourth or fifth best team in baseball this year yet they came within one strike of winning the whole damn thing.

Yep, that ball that Cruz missed, if it's contacted one inch closer to the handle it's an atom ball, series over. People like a scapegoat though, like Bill Buckner missing the grounder but forget he was a complete beast all that season with men on base, his RBI's were a major reason the Sox even got to the WS..
