See, I have a big problem akin to "The Godfather Pt. 3" Have followed the Braves since I lived in Florida, being close enough to West Palm Beach back then, that I really really reallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly used to live and die by every game, Yes, even spring training, it was that bad. They lured me in and just when I want out, BAM! they suck me right back in. I've tried for years to wean myself off of it, like crack, and now I'm reading on ESPN, that a few folks are picking them to go to the WS. WHY BRAVES, WHY THE HELL DO YOU DO THIS TO ME???? At least this season Ive been able to put spring training games behind me, but still get upset nonetheless. It also doesnt help that my wifes company has season tix available practically any time I want to go.

I suffer and take the jabs year after year like any Cleveland or Buffalo fan would. I certainly understand their angst. Bring on baseball. Finally!!!!!

Ohh yes! But last year was such a bummer for me T.T. I also refuse to go to any dodgers game @ my beloved dodgers stadium, as long as the Bostonian McCourt still owns the Dodgers. First off, it's blasphemous that anyone from Boston should be owning an LA team. Second, his divorce settlement ruined the team last year. I dislike the guy, and dislike his ex-wife even more. SIGH...

Good thing I can still watch the Dodgers @ the nice Petco Park when they come into town .

Holliday possibly out 4-6 weeks. Appendectomy.

Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday will undergo an appendectomy today.

Holliday, who hit a solo home run in the opener, went home after the 5-3 extra-inning loss to the Padres and began feeling pain.

The procedure will be performed this afternoon by Dr. Chris Eagon of the Washington University medical staff.

The team did not set out a timetable for Holliday's return, but in general, recovery time is generally 4 to 6 weeks before any "strenuous activity" can begin.

In 2010, Holliday was the only National League outfielder to finish in the top 10 in batting average (.312), on-base percentage (.390) and slugging percentage (.532).

This spring, Holliday hit .345 and got off to a strong start in Thursday's opener, going 3 for 4 with a homer and two RBIs.

Without Holliday, the Cardinals have four outfielders on the current roster: Colby Rasmus, Lance Berkman, John Jay and Allen Craig.

No decision has been made on a roster move.

Really, how do you stand it? That team is such a mess.

I'm not a bandwagon Yankees fan, as I've been a fan all my life and I'm from New York, so it's allowed...but our 2003-2004 and 2008 seasons were tough...I can't imagine going through that every single year.

Last year had some serious problems with Clueless Joe mismanaging shit, and a hitting coach that doesn't know how to scout rookies, but at least we made it to the post season (even if we shouldn't have).

This year, the team looks worse, and the O's look pretty good. The Rays are weaker than last year, I think. Boston went all early-2000s-Yankees on us and I think it'll blow up when all of their ancient players break down in July and go on the DL. It certainly didn't work out well for the Yankees when they tried it.

Clueless Joe needs to be perfect this year managerially and we can't have a 2-20 record when facing a rookie pitcher (like we did last year) if we want to get anywhere in the AL East. Oh well. We'll see how it plays out. I'm not optimistic.
