If Indy wants to seal this series they need to push the pace. With about 2 minutes left in the game there was a classic DWade moment where he was crying to the officials and never came back to play defense. Instead of pushing it Indy held the ball above the three point line for another 15 seconds, waited for the clock to go down and force a horrible shot.

So many possessions they hold the ball up above the arc for the first 15 seconds of the clock and don't even try to move the ball until they panic with 7 seconds left and force a shot up. They need to set up their offense sooner and push the ball up faster in clear transition opportunities.
all that sounds fine/correct but the last thing the Pacers need to do is pretend they're the Miami Heat. They're handling themselves just fine so far, albeit with some erratic play by Stephenson and Hill.

Ray Allen and Shane Battie have hit zero 3's this entire series. They will wake up at some point and Miami is going to spread the floor out and break up Indy's defensive plan up to this point. They are going to need to score more points and quicker and are not a great 3pt shooting team themselves.

Miami is firing on about 4 of 6 cylinders right now IMHO. Indy is 5.5 out of 6. That .5 is bad turnovers and terrible clock management.

I disagree about Allen and Battier waking up in this series. Battier is getting worn down guarding David West all night because Haslem collects fouls like his life is depending on it. Allen has to guard Hill and Stephenson all night wearing himself out (especially with Chalmers injured). They really need Wade to take it to another level. Not expecting anything more from Bosh - he'll just shoot jumpers all series.

It took a balanced team effort to overcome the MVP...(deshawn stevenson - most volatile player.)

That said, the pacers have been a fantastic team to watch so far. A very balanced team with players that can each make plays but neither are expected to make every play. The growth of George is outstanding and a great story, but no one should overlook how hard Hibbard has worked and grown since he's come in the league.

ball game folks, pacers should be up 2-0. Bosh taking way too many 3 pointers. It's sad when you have Bosh shooting a 3 at the end of the game with Shane "All I do is shoot 3s and play dirty" Battier and Ray "I'm going to go down in history with the most 3s" Allen.

I hate the heat but as a basketball fan it pains me to see Spoelstra set up Bosh behind the arc. It's a tragedy. And it reeks of desperation.

Pacers are going to take this series.

Down with the Heat

I hope so and had they taken game 1 (which they should have), I would definitely agree with you. The Pacers aren't intimidated by the Heat at all. I will experience incredible lulz if the Heat are sent packing.

Also, LOL at any retard who said the Heat would sweep the series. The Heat were lucky to beat the Pacers last year and should be down 2-0 in this series.

I really don't see pushing the pace as the key for the pacers. They seem to do the best setting up in the half court and letting Hibbert or George go to work. It'd be great if they could get some easy buckets but the way Lebron tracks people down like a ball hawking safety it's easier said than done.

It's OK, VRolok isn't really an NBA fan, is a Miami fan (same thing), or doesn't think sports games can be stolen at the last second, lol.

A win is a win, for sure, even if you've lost in every statistical category except the one that matters. You shouldn't watch the game next time, just the last 2 minutes, because that's all that matters right?

Pacers should be up 2-0 and Lebron is still surrounded by scrubs, look at the stat line. Pacers very high +/- in starters, all negatives on heat. mathematics are the remnants of sports games, they prove everything I'm saying.

Higher FG %
More 3Ps made, higher 3P %.
More FTs, higher FT %.
More Offensive Rebounds, Defensive Rebounds, Total (obviously)
More assists
More steals
Less Turnovers
Less fouls
Win.

Would have been a steal if Lebron transformed into superman again.

This. I'm really fearful that the Pacers giving the Heat game 1 is going to bite them though.

The scary thing about Indy is that other than David West they are still a very young team. They've got another 2-3 years before a lot of those guys really start hitting their peak years. And Danny Granger isn't even playing. As good as they are now, give them another year or two to further mature and add an all-star back into the mix. Yikes.

I don't think Danny Granger will be here much longer to be honest. There were rumors flying all over the place last year about him being traded and with George taking over the team, I think they might be looking to package Granger and land a top tier guard. I was kind of shocked when they traded Collison.

Yeah Hibbert is a max contract, West is a big contract and George is going to want/deserve a big payday. Not a lot of money left there for Granger. One of those guys is going to have to move. West and Granger are most likely. I don't know the details of either contract.

West is a free agent after this season. He deserves a decent contract even at 32. Power forwards seem to play well later into their careers. Granger should be shipped out imo. I wouldn't want him taking shots away from George or Hibbert. Maybe look for Grainger to be traded to Dallas. Ind and Dallas have a history of working together on trades. Dallas needs an all star player to team with Dirk.

I thought it was funny how Reggie was corrected about Lebron being the best closer in the game. Reggie says Lebron becoming one of the better closers in the game. Other announcer corrects him then Reggie says oh no I meant he's the best closer in the game.
A little thick with the sale job don't ya think David?
Lebron goes on to choke the game away in glorious fashion.

At the same time, miami has had. 2 games of average defense and substandard offense and are a bad pass attempt from being 2-0.

Most under rated team in NBA by far.

If they don't lose some of these guys they will have more talent than the heat in no time.

His finish in game 1 was nothing to write home about, just simple lay up. Pacers messed up.

He is as clutch as just about any player out there.

OT: The Blake Griffin Kia commercials have got to be the most stupid commercials currently running on TV. Hell, I feel more dumb just watching them and can't imagine why Kia is willing to pay so much for those truly dumb commercials.

Now: Go Spurs!
