oh, I don't know, it probably has nothing to do with how inconsistent the refereeing has been so far, game 7 crawford changed to ref game 2, and maybe once upon a time there was some funny gambling going on with more than 1 ref who caused games to be tweaked as they saw fit? IMO if the refereeing is as it has been this series, Heat are done in game 6. But you know that won't happen on home court.

Anyone know why crawford was moved?

stern also retiring this year.

where there's money to be made, someone will be making it.

it's like saying because the patriots cheated in the past, they aren't cheaters anymore. there will always be a stench. every sport has someone trying to take a possibly unfair advantage (to win - players, to make more money - owners/etc).

a small list:
nba - flopping, gambling refs, resting players for the playoffs (remember stern fined the spurs heavily for not putting out an "NBA product for the fans" by resting parker/ginobli/duncan - so don't think stern doesn't care about mula, he fines left and right), etc
nfl - steroids, deer antler, using technology to steal other teams plays, etc
mlb - steroids, corked bats, spitballs/scuffed balls, etc

a former MLB pitcher says every game he watches today, he sees at least one instance of a pitcher trying to do something "fishy", haha.

Great game, the Heat were close to closing the gap a few times but SA never buckled.

If Spurs win, is Danny Green the finals MVP barring some insane performances from Parker in 6/7?

Great quote in a Yahoo article this AM about Ginobili:

"All those years ago, Buford discovered him at the World Championships as a 20-year-old kid making as many mistakes as spectacular plays. Outside the locker room, Buford laughed, "He's the ultimate 'Oh [expletive] player. Both coaches are saying it when he has the ball."

That Danny Green shot after the 3 point play by Miami was HUGE!!!! It was the Spurs saying nope. This one is ours.

I think it would be awesome to see Danny Green win Finals MVP. Would be much like when Billups won it.

The 1 on 1 defense instances of Leonard has been big on Lebron. To be able to leave Lebron guarded 1 on 1 sometimes...huge advantage.

Leonard has done a good job taking the many forearm shoves and other crap James rarely if ever gets called on.

Yeah, Green gets all the attention but Leonard has quietly had a brilliant performance on his own. He's played some excellent defense on one of the most physical players in the league, has came away with a huge number of steals, and is one of the best rebounders in the series. He's also made some *very* important shots in the paint to keep the defense honest. Leonard, Green, Parker, and can't forget about Duncan. All those guys have played some great basketball.

anyone know diaw's weight, xD
its up there for sure.... He's looking seriously slow but the mass can handle all that BS lechoke does. Simply plant your feet and go flyin backwards and lebron will foul out midway through the first quarter if refs called a game properly.

Also, LeBron really needs to be teched for his reactions - of course, they're costing his team points, so I really don't mind.

see the thing is, when lebron is crying (or wade), typically the spurs penalize them by pushing the ball up court.

when the refs let them play, it's almost as if lebron is sort of cancelling out the perceived foul. the refs may think later on to call a foul in a similar situation, but because lebron is complaining - they won't call a tech on him for that and call it "even"!

similar to sometimes you see a foul on a team when the ball gets knocked out of bounds, instead of calling the foul - they'll just give the ball to the other team and call it "even".

I liked how when lebron fell to the floor pretty hard he just laid there not hurt at all but waiting for a teammate to help him up as 3 guys flew down the court just to look around like WTF where's the other 2?

Just T the guy up like the rules say you're supposed to.

The reffing has been kind of weird. Very few fouls called around the basket. And that goes for both teams. In recent years Lebron would have been to the line 5+ more times in that game last night. Not this finals. Same thing with Parker and Ginobili in their drives to the basket. A lot of no-calls on those slashes and drives.

Miami was very aggressive to the hole last night and had a lot of 2nd attempt shots blocked/deflected. In previous series I would have thought several of those would have resulted in fouls being called.

On the flip side there's more moving screen & and fouls trying to get around screens than I remember seeing in recent games. A lot of calls away from the ball.

I don't think there's been a single technical foul called this series (somebody correct me if I'm wrong there).

The only other thing to really complain about is a lot of calls going the wrong way on the "last touched by" during out of bounds deflections. But until the NBA goes to a review system on that it's not going to change.

In all, it's been a fairly low foul called series.

i heard on sportscenter that LBJ went 1 for 8 when Diaw was on him... LOL

Doesn't surprise me. He ends up shooting jumpers on Diaw. He can't drive on Diaw because the Spurs are in help mode and the defense collapses well. He can't bully Diaw on the block because, well, he's a load.

If people are surprised by Diaw's footwork and quickness, don't be - he came into the league as a PG. He's slowed down, but his BBIQ is so high he knows how to use his weight.

I only watched the second half but Diaw looked like a fat waste to me. Lebron missed chip shots from 5 foot out. Anyone could have done what he did.

I dont think anybody was praising his quickness LOL he looked incredibly slow to me... Duncan looked quicker than Diaw

He's able to stay in front of LBJ, and people say LBJ is quick for his size. Why can't Diaw have that statement used for him as well?

I think the .gif clearly shows Ginobili's left hand coming down on Lebron's left forearm before going up for the reverse layup.
