Going to be tough; already hit by the injury bug and who knows how The Schneid will play for the whole season. I sure hope they can get some scoring depth with a trade of the big Italian. I feel extra excited about watching hockey this year for some reason. :hmm:

Are you worried about them making the playoffs this year? I think they might have a couple years of just barely making it followed by a few down years before the young guns start to pick up the slack of those who have left.

Regardless, that is going to be one hard as hell division this year. I don't think Nashville will miss Ryan Suter nearly as much as Ryan Suter is going to miss Shea Weber but I'm interested to see how that breaks down.

I also think the Northwest division is going to be hard this year, not just because of the obvious reason of Minnesota winning free agency by a mile but also Edmonton is going to be a serious force within the next few years. Will become the Pittsburgh of the west in their dominance I think.

One thing I know for certain, the Avalanche need to get Ryan OReilley signed ASAP if we have a modicum of a chance to make the playoffs this year - and if we lose him, it will set us back big time.

Re-made. There will be no east vs. west games. Bad for the Avs because they have sucked the last two seasons against the west and are nearly unbeatable by teams from the east.

In the last 15 seasons they have managed not to get to 100 points only 2 times (96-97 and 98-99) , they have been in the playoffs every year since 1989-90.

Their defense this year is weak however but their forwards are pretty good and they can roll 4 lines no problem, goalkeeping should be good as well. They have added some goal scoring depth this year and have 2 very good rookies coming up this year, TSN had them rated #2 and #10 in the league.
