My main league drafted last night. I'm happy with my team, I'll post my lineup after this week's ATOT drafts

Ok, so I am pretty happy with my main league draft. Had 4th pick, I should fare much better than I did last year.

1 QB, 2 RB, 3 W/T, 1 K, 1 DST, 4 BN. 12 Team PPR League

QB - Drew Brees
RB - Maurice Jones Drew, Adrian Peterson
W/T - Julio Jones, Dez Bryant, Brandon Lloyd
DST- Detroit Lions
K - Neil Rackers
BN - BenJarvus Green-Ellis (RB), Darrius Heyward-Bay (WR), Justin Blackmon (WR), Ben Tate (RB)

Im surprised MJD fell to me in the 2nd round, there is no way he is sitting out and is easily a 1st rounder. Took a slight gamble on AP but he is an easy potential number 1 RB and there was no way I could let him slide by him in the 4th round

Update to my earlier question on who to draft: Ended up taking Richardson with my First pick (5th round, #2).

So my team looks like this (starters are the first ones. 1QB, 3WR, 2RB's, 1 Flex, 1K, 1D):

QB: E. Manning., Rivers
RB: S-Jax, Richardson, Tolbert, B. Jackson, Best
WR: Fitzy, Bowe, Garcon, T. Young, D. Baldwin
TE: Witten
Flex: M. Turner
K: Akers
D : Philly

I think I did ok. We'll see what happens with the WR's, but all together, pretty happy.

Some sites now saying mjd is a 3 round pick, not surprising that you could get him in the 2nd.

You seem to be pretty solid in your QB and WR spots but relatively weak at RB. CJ2K didn't do too hot last season and Donald Brown and Pierre Thomas are Meh. If you're picking between those three I'd go with RB.

::EDIT:: Whoops didn't see Charles or Blount in there. If CJ2k and Charles are firing, you've got a great RB core. I'd drop Thomas and/or Brown and see how Richardson does.

Decided on Richardson. Thanks for the input. God I hope he doesn't bust....

I'm as rookie as rookie can be at this, so I could use some input on how my team looks. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

FWIW, I'm in a 16 team league. I had third round pick in a snake style draft. For the most part I got who I wanted initially, but the pickins' got slim around round 7. I have no idea who in the hell my kicker is. By the last round, when I picked him, I just went with that kicker because he might be related to Ted Nugent.

QB Cam Newton
RB DeMarco Murray
RB Jahvid Best
WR Julio Jones
WR Demaryius Thomas
TE Brandon Pettigrew
D/ST Bears D/ST
K Mike Nugent
BE Anquan Boldin
BE Toby Gerhart
BE Alex Green
BE Tim Tebow
BE Doug Baldwin
BE Lance Kendricks

Who was your first pick? I really like your core of Newton, Murray, and Julio, but I think it could have been even better if you had the third pick.

You desperately need another RB, Best isn't going to be playing for a while. Try to trade Boldin if possible(not sure what he's worth in a 16 team)

Depending on how AP fares in the first few games, Gerhart might be a solid drop in too. Of course I have AP on my team so I'm hoping this doesn't happen but Gerhart was shockingly solid. He averaged 17-18 points per game (in PPR format) when All Day got injured.

Jahvid Best as your second RB? That is no good, Best may never play football again. You would be better off putting Gerhart in the #2 RB slot at this point. Your RB depth worries me.

Demaryius thomas is an ok number 2 WR, but with Peyton Manning in the mix his numbers have a great chance to go up. I had overly high hopes for Boldin last year but he did not produce the numbers in my main league that I was hoping.

Tim Tebow? lol, I would not have even wasted a pick on that. Is that the only QB that was left? I know this was a 16 team league. I am not a fan of 16 team leagues, it turns into a crap shoot in the later rounds while you hope you find that magical sleeper.

Wow, Gronk, Sproles and Colston are PPR studs. Your first 5 picks are solid as a rock.

Well it's a 10 team league right? Big difference between 10 team and 12+ IMO. A lot more good options in later rounds. Also, based on his first pick i'm assuming he had the #1 or #2 pick overall. With a snaking draft I can see him picking up Gronk in the 2nd and then Newton 1 or 3 picks later. Especially when everyone else is probably scrambling for RB's/WR's.

Very true, but Cam should have been gone in the first round. Regardless, he has a good number of players that will post huge numbers in PPR.

@Slayer - Cam was my first pick. Me having third round pick seemed nice, but by the time it snaked back to me with 16 teams picking, most of who I wanted was gone.

Granted I could have done more research beforehand, especially considering I haven't really followed football closely (I've only started watching and enjoying it in the last three years or so, but never got to the point where I remember who's good or not, other than the big names). I do want to get serious about this though.

I checked, and it looks like I can drop Best and pick up Adrian Peterson. I know he's injured, but reports say he's doing much better. What do you guys think of dropping Best and picking up Adrian?

@MetalMat - I haven't set a lineup yet, so Best isn't my 2nd RB per se.

So back to my keeper league question. I'm keeping AP and Jordy Nelson. I traded my 1st pick for a buddy's 1st, 2nd and 4th round picks (he wanted to keep brees). So I basically have the 9th, 16th, 24th and 25th pick in the draft. Below are the top FA's in the league by position. My thoughts: 1 can go 2RB/1WR or 1WR/2RB in the first 3 picks. Draft order in terms of order of importance. Apologies for so much info but I'd like to get some thoughts on my strategy and any suggestions for improvement specifically if I should start with a WR pick or an RB pick. I know I need a lot of help in RB but my league has 2RB, 1RB/WR, 3WR, 1WR/TE spots:

9th:
Welker (if i'm lucky)
Larry Fitz
Sproles
Fred Jackson
Steven Jackson

16th (Depends on the 9th pick):
Gronk (if i'm lucky)
Mike Wallace
Percy Harvin
Steven Jackson
Trent Richardson

24th: WR/RB

25th: QB

QB
Brees
Eli
Peyton
Romo
Rivers

RB
Sproles
Mathews
Fred Jackson
Steven Jackson
Trent Richardson
Marshawn Lynch
Frank Gore
Bradshaw
Turner

WR
Welker
Roddy White
Larry Fitz
Mike Wallace
Brandon Marshall
Percy Harvin
Dwayne Bowe
Marques Colston

TE
Gronk
Antonio Gates
Vernon Davis

An honest to god sleeper is going to be Ryan Williams here in AZ. The kid is explosive and let's face it, Beanie won't last the whole season.

Williams will surprise a lot of people, just watch.

Eh, I'd take Newton over McFadden, Forte and potentially Brees. But then again, Brees screwed me his Madden cover year, so I tread lightly.
