Grats to Cain, that was great. Although sports writers nowadays seem to get more stupid with each passing day:

Greatest game ever pitched? Really, Mr. Schoenfield? Blanco's catch being compared to Willie Mays catch? /groan
That said I did pick SF to win the division b/c of Lincecum/Cain/Bumgarner, and they'd be in first if Lincecum was actually performing.
A bigger story than even the perfect game is the Nats just sweeping the Red Sox and BJays to own the 2nd best record in baseball. Without their highest paid superstar (Werth) or closer (Storen), or starting catcher (Ramos). Lowest Runs Allowed in the majors and the next closest team is LA at
26 more runs allowed. A team that 95% of analysts picked to finish in the cellar again but I picked to make the playoffs on the strength of that starting rotation. Gio was basically the missing piece, along with the maturation of Zimmerman and EJax.
You can't script this shit and as a fan of pitching this is what heaven looks like. Like Dallas Braden tweeted, it's truly the era of the pitcher. Barry Bonds eat your heart out.
