The Skins should have taken a page out of the Nats' playbook in terms of how they treated Strasburg in the postseason: long-term health of the player versus short-term benefit. Especially with Kirk Cousins waiting in the wings. I blame Mike Shanahan for all this. Should have put Kirk in after the first.

I disagreed with the Nationals' decision vehemently, but this was a case of sacrificing potential long-term health for short-term detriment. Congratulations Mike Shanahan, you got the worst of both worlds.

Nice win, Hawks! Like I said in the other thread I'd rather have RW1 than RG3 and AL1. Not fair that RG3 was injured to fully compare but love how RW1 makes so few mistakes.

As much as I respect his gutty two lead blocks Russel better be careful there in the future.

Yes -- the Seahawks are simply a better team even with a healthy Griffin. The same as the Ravens are better than the Colts and made the big plays today.

I don't think so. An injured Robert gave us a 14 point lead. He was reinjured right before the second score. Did not score again. Yet you think his injury had nothing to do with that? I call loads of BS. Had he not been injured the seahawks wouldn't have been back in the game IMO. Defense played well enough. not to mention the second time he went down in the game was another fumble. How in the world can you come to a different conclusion?

I'm going with all the favorites this weekend, even though I hate doing that. I think the Texans will come out of their funk and be ready for Cinci. I think Green Bay will actually be somewhat successful in stopping AP (successful being under 150 yds for AP). Wanted to take Indy over Baltimore but Baltimore has had a much tougher schedule, so I think they'll be more prepared. Plus they are playing at home. Then taking Seattle in double digits over Washington.

Right or wrong these will be great to watch, fuck yeah NFL playoffs!

Fuck yeah predictions! Nailed em all.

Anyways, I don't think leaving RGIII in was a bad idea. If he had him on the sideline with a critical game on the line, he would have never heard the end of it. In that case, you put him out there and hope for the best.

lol @ howie long flip flopping on his Seahawks pick after the first quarter

skins got owned tonight. although they fell short, can't really be upset with the team doubling their win totals from last year and looking like they have a bright future ahead. definitely disappointing though.

rg3 shoulda been out earlier, but hindsight is 20/20. just don't know why they stopped giving alfred morris the ball. such a baller.

all i got going for me now is to root against the ravens for the rest of the playoffs.

The Seahawks were rattled and were playing terrible defense and were getting stuffed badly on offense. They settled down and steamrolled the Washington defense. The last time I checked, RGIII didn't play corner. You're ignoring the complete domination of the Seattle offense once it settled down and frankly, they should've had a couple more scores.

I'm going to repeat what I said at another forum. If a player plays injured, he shouldn't use the injury as an excuse for not playing well. And I wager that RGIII won't use it as an excuse but his fans will trip over themselves using it. If the injury is bad enough to severely affect the player's play, he needs to be on the bench. If he isn't, that's on him and the coaching staff.

I call loads of BS. Had he not been injured the seahawks wouldn't have been back in the game IMO. Defense played well enough. not to mention the second time he went down in the game was another fumble.

I call loads of BS. Seattle got back into the game nicely after being seriously stuffed on the opening few possessions. They had little problem with the Redskins defense after the initial barrage passed.

How in the world can you come to a different conclusion?

Because I'm not a Redskins homer and I saw Seattle's offense going up and down the field on the Redskins defense? You just don't want to give Seattle any credit and want to make excuses for the Skins losing. I don't make excuses for the Colts losing -- the Ravens are a better team and made big plays when they needed to.

Eh, I wouldn't say he really gave them the 14 points- their running game did, and Seahawks notorious slow start.

Russell Wilson looks like he's well over 6' when he was standing next to Erin Andrews, who is supposedly 5'10", 6' in heels. I wonder if he wears lifts.

Its too bad RG3 wasnt 100%. While he cost them with his limited mobility, the threat of his running is what kept Seattles defense as conservative as they were. When Cousins was in there, they bum rushed him. Its easy to second guess after the game has been decided, but Washington was winning with 7 min left to go in the 4th.

Hopefully Seattle will let lose on Atlanta and not start so slow. I kinda want to see Seattle play SF or GB for the NFC championship, as there are good built in storylines with those potential matchups.

My predictions this week.
I'll continue further next week.

Bengals at Texans
Vikings at Packers
Colts at Ravens
Seahawks at Redskins

Nailed it ... WooHoo!
Now to start thinking about next weekend.

I don't think it would have made a difference. Once the Seahaws defense kicked into gear it didn't matter who was back there.

Man, these were some pretty boring games this weekend. Good to see the Broncos are playing a team we already beat in their home stadium. Now that they have Lewis back it may be tougher but I think we'll still be okay.

I have to agree they were not great games. By the end of the first quarter it was obvious Webb was no qb.

Historically rookie qb's don't do well their first game in the playoffs. Still, Luck did ok and so did RW.

Now we get to see the real teams next week. Should be a good weekend.

I think the Packers, Patriots, and Broncos win. I'm leaning towards Seattle as well.

I'm leaning towards 49ers, Patriots, Broncos and Falcons.
Those aren't my picks yet ... need to rethink and analyze a little more.

Just got back from Baltimore, holy hell the partying is nuts for Ray's last home game and win. Drunken girls crying over self esteem issues, beer spilled on me, me spilling beer, it's pandemonium out there. Oh, and

I hope Ray enjoyed his last win, because Manning owns him badly and he won't be getting another.

Well I was 3 out of 4 this weekend. Looking forward to the Broncos handing the Ravens their ass on a platter next week. I think the Patriots/Texans games is going to be a thriller, not the 42-14 thrashing from last time. Packers vs 49ers wow that will be awesome and I have no idea who is going to win that one. I kind of hope 49ers lose just because what they've done to Alex Smith.

If the Seahawks D plays well again then Atlanta stands no chance. Matt Ryan has already proven how badly he performs in the playoffs. He's probably peeing in his pants right now. Wilson and Lynch are gonna bring pain to Atlanta. Engage Beast Mode!

Manning was 8-0 against the Ravens in his previous 8 meetings with them as a member of the Colts. The Ravens will be lucky to only lose by a couple of TDs, IMO.

Maybe Ray stays on as a cheerleader. Terrell Owens does his dance better too.

I feel sorry for RG3, he's a rookie, the Redskins organization in all their ineptitude failed to protect him. Hopefully the damage isn't bad.

ICF, can you answer this question with a straight yes or no? Was RGIII's play affected by his injured knee? nothing to trip over except for the truth and if you can't handle that, well, there really isn't anything to say to someone who doesn't accept reality. I would agree that he should have been benched and that error is on Shanahan but don't strut this out like RGIII was playing at his best and somehow seahawks would have overcome that. Thats just BS.

Going up and down the field means shit if you don't score. I won't argue that they didn't move the ball cause they clearly did. There are no excuses the game was lost the way it was played. The question was would the outcome be the same if he was healthy. You clearly can't grasp that and instead expand it into some excuse making thread. Nice try though.

You prove my point. This happened immediately after his reinjury.

It will be a good opportunity for SP33Demon to comfort the drunk, weeping women

Omg, not sure if it's just me or does B.more have some insanely hot single women (living in the city)... a shame I have a g/f.

RG3 needed his right knee to plant when throwing, so it absolutely affected his play. I don't blame Shanny for leaving him in, because if things went wrong, they could just blame it on the knee - easy way to take the blame off the coaching staff. However, they may have fcked themselves over for next season by not putting Cousins in earlier, depending on the severity of the injury.
