Wild Card Weekend

Bengals at Texans
Vikings at Packers
Colts at Ravens
Seahawks at Redskins

Division Round

Bengals at Broncos
Ravens at Patriots
Packers at 49ers
Seahawks at Falcons

Conference round

Patriots at Broncos
Seahawks at 49ers

I think the Bengals pull the upset. The Texans have really been spiraling down, since week 8 the only decent teams they have beat are the Colts, Ravens and Bears. I see a game very similar to the week 16 Vikings/Texans game but closer and Andy Dalton has a bounce back game.

Vikings used up everything they had in a "win or go home" situation, at home, with AP chasing the record. They will be outta gas and the Packers will wallop them.

Colts had a big emotional win Sunday but I just can't see them going into Baltimore and winning. The Ravens will show up in the playoffs, should be a semi close game but the Colts will hit a brick wall.

Seahawks have been playing lights out since losing to the Dolphins. Sure the Rams game was close but the Rams have played their division opponents rather well. I don't think the Redskins offense will be nearly as effective against Seattle as it was against Dallas and Seattle's defense will shut down RG3 and Alfred Morris.

Of course I know I will be wrong about every one of these predictions

Have the Pats won the SB by more than a TD?

I don't think so, but in competitive games between good teams that's supposed to happen, it can come down to one great play to win it or a muff (Welker, though I still love the guy) or a "wide right" FG attempt or a missed chip-shot FG attempt (Billy C). Both of the Patriot's last 2 losses to the Giants were by 3 points/game, nature of the beast, beats watching the Niner's scalping the Broncos by 55 to something anyway. Should be an interesting playoff's, I'm kinda thinking Cincy's flying under the radar but their D has been outstanding for most of the season and they had to play in a division with the Steelers and Ravens and still made it in, just sayin...

Last time I checked a win is a win is a win.

Yet a 2 TD win has never been in the cards for the Pats at SB time. They play just good enough to win and seem to dig themselves into holes that require a FG to come out ahead.

I have been a fan of the Pats since the snowblower, but feel that this attitude hurts them in terms of superiority. They had the Giants against the wall a couple of Yeats ago and started to play as not to loose rather than to win. And they lost the perfect season ad an result.

I'm feeling a Redskins/Broncos Superbowl. Okay well no, but that's what I want to see.

They got a 3 point lead LATE in the 4th qtr, Brady/Moss hookup, that team had enough talent and experience in the secondary so BB didn't have to come up with exotic blitzes, Assaunte Samuall let an easy pick go right through his hands and then the miracle helmet catch ( and the non-holding calls during the throw by EM, it was rather obvious)..

Want to see Broncos play Colts or Bengals due to some office rivalries. If they both lose that wouldn't be as fun... though that means we'd be playing the Ravens again which went well last time.

The Texans winning wouldn't be bad though, because then if the Broncos won the divisional game then regardless of what happened in the Pats/Texans game they would be facing somebody they lost to earlier. I would love to prove to one of those teams that things have changed since the beginning of the year.

Overall I would love to see a Broncos vs. Packers SB again. Would bring me back to SB XXXII when Denver won their first and stopped the Packers from winning back to back. Of course the next year Denver DID win back to back... and it was all downhill from there :'(

AFC championship: Patriots at Broncos
NFC championship: 49ers at Falcons

Super Bowl XLVII: Broncos (34) vs. Falcons (19)

And then we'll party like it's 1999

This is so dull. Having all 4 divison teams make the championship.

Where is your imagination!

I want the broncos/49ers/colts to lose because they seem to have the most annoying fans presently. I'd love to see the Seahawks win it somehow.

Funny, because Yeats is exactly what I have in mind when I imagine what must be going on in Brady's head when he considers facing Manning in the playoffs this year:

William Butler Yeats (1865-1939) THE SECOND COMING
Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: a waste of desert sand;
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Wind shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

Yes it would, especially since it would be Ray Lewis's last game. Sadly I don't see it happening. The Ravens are one of the weakest teams going into the playoffs.

I like those except replace Patriots with Broncos. Seahawks all the way next year.

Man 5 weeks ago I thought Houston for sure, then their defense got lit up big time

I like how everyone is picking the 49ers over the packers.

Remember

A) 49ers did not blow the packers out, they beat them yes, but not a big enough ass whoping to think an auto win.
B) first 5 games (49ers were in this) the packers offense seemed to still be on offseason hangover. I mean they lost 3** of their first 5 games. And only 2 losses in the last 11 games. Along with Offense ramping up to now scoring double the points if not more per gamefrom first few weeks.
C) 49ers seem to have really struggled last 5 or so weeks. And the Packers are always more dangerous when they do not have a bye in the playoffs, as it seems resting harms them more than helps them.

** = Techincally they lost 2 of their first 5 games, but of course that amazing interception-touchdown.

I think people are giving the Colts a little too much credit and I'm shocked everyone is picking them. I don't think it is a slam dunk by any stretch. I do think that the Ravens are the best possible matchup for the Colts in the playoffs due to the relative weakness of Flacco compared to the rest of the playoff QBs, but if "good" Flacco shows up, the Colts may be in for a long day if the Ravens get pressure on Luck. Too many variables for me to call the game.

I'd like to see a Skins/Colts Superbowl, if only for the thread here. Eits & IndyColtsFan would be the first two people to hit 100,000 posts each.

But, I'm not sure the Skins will get past the Seahawks. That should be one of the better games of the playoffs. Seattle showed they can stop a running quarterback - but for a team that didn't have a very good running back. With Morris back there, Griffin & Morris together might challenge Seattle's run defense (which finished in the bottom half of the league for yards allowed per carry.) The Skins are 9-1 when Garçon is playing - if you watch Griffin's highlight videos you youtube, a LOT of the highlights are passes to Garçon. Can Seattle stop him on slants? In the other direction the skins suck on pass defense. Can the Skins stop Wilson?
