actually, it really doesn't mean anything. It's not statistically significant in terms of being predictive of any future games, anyway. All it says is that in 9 previous games, Manning beat this team. That's neat, but as far as the next game is concerned, it has an identical predictive power of using the results of the Redskins/Cowboys game to predict the presidential election that year.
As soon as they lose that game, it is no longer significant

Even now, I think Lovie Smith got a raw deal in his recent firing. He took Rex Grossman to the Super Bowl; that should buy you all kinds of juice if your team is still having winning seasons.

I agree. I watched him for 3? years while in Chicago (one of those being Sexy Rexy in the SB) and whenever I can catch them this year. ....they are a very good team, but I can also see why he was fired: too good of a team to lose the way they do and collapse late in the season. It has to be coaching at some point.
and FWIW, I was hoping that Shanahan would be fired even after they made the playoffs.
