I like how everyone is picking the 49ers over the packers.

Remember

A) 49ers did not blow the packers out, they beat them yes, but not a big enough ass whoping to think an auto win.
B) first 5 games (49ers were in this) the packers offense seemed to still be on offseason hangover. I mean they lost 3** of their first 5 games. And only 2 losses in the last 11 games. Along with Offense ramping up to now scoring double the points if not more per gamefrom first few weeks.
C) 49ers seem to have really struggled last 5 or so weeks. And the Packers are always more dangerous when they do not have a bye in the playoffs, as it seems resting harms them more than helps them.

** = Techincally they lost 2 of their first 5 games, but of course that amazing interception-touchdown.

I'll agree that the Packers have gotten more in sync offensively as the season progressed.. but the 49ers dominated that first game. The game wouldn't have even been close had that flag not been picked up for the illegal block in the back on Cobb's return. The refs were bad on both sides the entire game though. Missed false starts, unsportsmanlike penalties that weren't, phantom PIs, etc.

I still see the 49ers gashing through that Packers defense though and putting up enough points to hold off the Pack. They have the tools to continue to disrupt Rodgers and his o-line enough to stop some possessions as well.

This coming from someone who has watched both team's games all year. My GF/soon to be fiance is a Packers fan (she's from WI and has Packer season tickets) and we will be attending the playoff game (I'm a 49er season ticket holder). Will make for another interesting day. :awe:

You live dangerously.

The 49ers lost something last few weeks though. I can't put my finger on it, but watching them they do not seem the dominate team they were the previous year. Sure they won convincing wins against the patriots and saints. But the packers woke up from some hangover or something similar from the offseason. I mean started 2-3 was certain the season was going to go down hill. And ended 11-5.

I feel the packers will win the rematch, only because they have gotten more in sync. All their receivers (knock on wood) will be back/healthy-ish. Along with the Oline. Not saying they will clearly win or cleanily win the rematch (if they dont fail on the vikings), but I think they will take the rematch. Though it would be easier if they were to play it in Lambeau.

Edit: Plus rodgers is heating up on a "streak" with 10tds 0 INTs in last 3 games with an average of 123 QB rating going into the playoffs. There is a good chance as previous seasons shown, since the Packers do not have the bye, they may ride through again on his hot hands.

That "something" was Justin Smith. Jury is still out on whether he will be back for the playoffs.

It's official, coaching at the controversy riddled Penn St. is better than coaching the Browns - Penn St. coach will stay. Just thought that was funny.

Glad the weather forecast looks fair for these games, wouldn't want them being belittled by bad weather (first time I've ever used "Belittled" in my life, hooray).

I'm going with all the favorites this weekend, even though I hate doing that. I think the Texans will come out of their funk and be ready for Cinci. I think Green Bay will actually be somewhat successful in stopping AP (successful being under 150 yds for AP). Wanted to take Indy over Baltimore but Baltimore has had a much tougher schedule, so I think they'll be more prepared. Plus they are playing at home. Then taking Seattle in double digits over Washington.

Right or wrong these will be great to watch, fuck yeah NFL playoffs!

I'd like to see a Skins/Colts Superbowl, if only for the thread here. Eits & IndyColtsFan would be the first two people to hit 100,000 posts each.

But, I'm not sure the Skins will get past the Seahawks. That should be one of the better games of the playoffs. Seattle showed they can stop a running quarterback - but for a team that didn't have a very good running back. With Morris back there, Griffin & Morris together might challenge Seattle's run defense (which finished in the bottom half of the league for yards allowed per carry.) The Skins are 9-1 when Garçon is playing - if you watch Griffin's highlight videos you youtube, a LOT of the highlights are passes to Garçon. Can Seattle stop him on slants? In the other direction the skins suck on pass defense. Can the Skins stop Wilson?

If Sherman/Browner can jam him at the line and break the rhythm of the slant then yes, Garçon will be neutralized. As for the other the same can be said about us stopping RGIII. Should be one hell of a game though.
Would love to see a Broncos/Seahawks Superbowl. GO HAWKS!!!

If the Skins can't do it (ROFL), I'd love to see Seattle in the Superbowl. Next would be the Niners, I guess. 4th would be the Packers...or maybe the Vikes for shits.

that is pretty cheap, especially for stubhub prices. redskins tickets for the cowboys/skins game were $300 for nosebleeds.

Well compared to all of the other wildcard games, $170 is over 2X Skins tickets. It's insane. They were $112 on Wednesday...

Why people would pay $300 for nosebleed seats while HDTV exists is beyond me. Plus in your house you can keep it the perfect temperature, you can pause and rewind the game, fast forward through commercials (unless you're watchin live) and you don't have to put up with a bunch of drunken a-holes, unless your family is a bunch of drunken a-holes, which is always possible

The best seats in the house are the seats in your house.

Eh, I still like the 49ers to win, and I think Vegas will also favor them. The Packers WERE at full strength in Week 1, when the 49ers played them, and I thought the 49ers pretty much controlled the game, even with guys like Woodson and Matthews flying around everywhere.

Without the bye week, I'd say the 49ers had no chance, because to beat a QB like Rodgers, you need to be fast and crisp on defense. But with the extra rest, I think you'll see a fast, hard hitting defense like against the Saints last season.

its for the experience. going to a game isn't about watching the actual game, that is just part of it. most people who think the way you do just have never been to a game or aren't any fun at one.

i'd MUCH rather watch the games this weekend on my 10' screen and that is what i will be doing, but if i didn't care about watching the other game on sunday i'd most likely try to get tickets if i had $500 to blow.
