QE3 probably priced in, but ongoing QE3 might be pretty helpful. On the otherhand, the markets are already at/above the highs after QE1 and QE2. Europe still in shit despite promise to buy bonds, Greece still effed, China in worse shape than when QE1 and QE2 hit, etc.

Got my fingers crossed on the latter. Not because it's good for people, but because that will let me re-enter when people panic and oversell.

Thats what they said when they roll qe1 (priced in). The market never looked back. I think it will hit a new high then....

Some of you guys are constantly negative. Don't try to tell me Wall Street doesn't like the Fed's announcement. We are up like 3-4% since they made it.

Re AAPL
I got apple at $580 in April and everyone was screaming that it was way to expensive then. Half the "experts" say it's going to $400, half of them say it's going to $1000. I'd say the truth is in the middle but it certainly has done well for me in the past 5 months.

Truth be told I might take some profits off of it b/c I do fear a slight dip and I have like 30% of my entire portfolio in AAPL right now. But I would not listen to the people who constantly claim the Apple sky is falling.

Also truth be told, I'm no expert and I think pretty much any stock bought in April looks good now though

I'm happy, I own some construction related stocks and some natural gas related stocks. most of my portfolio that isn't cash ;-)

And some SPLS!

I had quite a nice week. Portfolio is up about 8% even though 1/3 is in cash.

Party's over. I was expecting a longer rally post-QE3 confirmation. Nope, back to stagnation.

Pulled my money back out. Just not feeling "it". Might buy some Apple.

Days like today are bit saddening. All my holdings went up but I'm still in the red. oh well at least it's moving in the right direction.

RIMM, OCZ, and AMD all meet their 52 week lows in the same day and nobody is gloating, buying, or even talking about it? It is certainly interesting at the least. Almost as if we are championing lost technological causes. Any other tech companies reach their 52 week low today?

OCZ's CFO left last week and the CEO resigned today. Do people think that is a sign of hope or a precursor to being sold or even bankruptcy? At the least, now OCZ can be sold for less than $700 million without the CEO and CFO losing face, because they just left.

I'm aware of what is going on with RIMM. And I am not that worried at all. I love news like this, I can add to my position. genreating billions in FCF (normalized to $2B+ FCF annually.... adjusting for that one time Playbook write off), check. no debt+billions in short term assets, check. Making some good moves looking forward, check. $7B market cap, check.

And I accept that there is a chance that it might not work out. I just don't see it that way. In other countries, people talk about how they want a Blackberry like how people in the US want an iPhone.

Listen, I don't care. Things have changed greatly in the past 6 months. And they are going to change even more in the next 12.

My research ... read, read, read ... yours ... some analysts said so. Yawn.

You worship some guy named Peter Misek. I worship a guy names Prem Watsa. Boy, do I feel stupid.

Hows that RIMM working out for you? Are you still "not worried"? Are you still adding to your position? LMAO

What's the history of performance of a company when they get booted off the DOW?
Kraft is splitting up and will be booted. I can't remember the company...United Health I think is taking it's place. Prior to that I was thinking about adding more of Kraft.
Any thoughts?
Do newcomers to the DOW usually get a spike?

I think a severe drop over a year or two is comng to the stock market.

I see 4 digit Dow again in the next several years.

anyone else playing Sprint? I think they have room to grow. Hoping for another dip to add more.

Still shorting LinkedIn. I don't see how it can sustain the pop.

Bought some more OCZ today to cost average down. Might bite me in the ass but I think ether they'll succeed or get bought out.

I'm up 92% on sprint, wish I would have sank more into it. Bought it when I heard they were going to do the iPhone and keep their unlimited data.

I too think they have room to grow so I'm holding for awhile.

I also think OCZ will either succeed or get bought but am not putting any money into it. I have been burned once by them.

Although it is tempting with both the CEO and CFO gone. The interim CEO (marketing guy) looks far more intelligent than the ousted CEO. The price keeps dropping and dropping and I am not yet certain it is at bottom.

However, AMD looks tempting for a long hold. I had a purchase limit order in for today at $3.25, the price came close but not close enough. I am holding off yet because the slope is low and negative, showing potentially further slow decline. We will see what happens these next few days.

It surprises me that of the three losers, it was RIM that bounced back today.

Developer's conference.

Just remember that RIM went from, IIRC, around $40 to $65 in the span of a few months due to the anouncement of the Playbook. And we all know how that turned out...

BB10 supposedly due in early 2013, so they miss the holiday season. And I would tack on a few months because their "scheduling" is pretty loose.

RIMM is working out pretty good. Should find out if they are still FCF positive soon. Subscriber base went from 78 to 80 million this year. BB10 holds alot of promise.

Not worried in the least. Not adding to position. Just watching at this point.

Price is what you pay. Value is what you get. LMAO at that.

Not sure how hte timing of RIMMs jump yesterday worked out. But many "analysts" thought the subscriber base would drop the last quarter. Thorsten nipped that in the bud pretty quickly yesterday. Last quarter, 78 million subscribers. This quarter, 80 million. Stupid worl market screweing up analyst expectations. I am wondering if the BB store roll out in India made a positive inpact there.

Seems you were right about not bottom yet. I would have thought support would have kicked in way before this. I guess the NAND shortage and management shakeup is making people nervous. Now it's just a waiting game, not sure I want to place any more money into OCZ not knowing when it might turn around.

Sitting this one out. Shit, it's painful sitting on 100% cash.

Yeah making .80% in a savings account feels like nothing when you can make 5% on a good day in the market. We do need a correction though to get the market moving up again.
