Son of a bitch... Me and my lack of faith in GOOG.

I only bought a few shares post-earnings when it dropped a stupid amount (~10%). Now it's going back up. Oh well, guess I'll only be able to buy 2-ply instead of 3-ply.

Yay, pullback!

Pretty flat like the past few "down" days in the past month.

not really, it basically a wash today from what I see.

this calls for a pull back shortly. With everyone wondering when the pull back will occur, any downward motion will probbaly result in a large dip as it builds on itself.

Shite. Got complacent. Just noticed my TGT is at an inflection point today. Should have sold. Oh well, I'll be awake to watch the market open tomorrow open.

I wonder how much of the market is tied together. I was watching SPY, NVDA and C the past month and they all had similar movement most of the time. I wonder if Mutual funds and EFTs are more active than those that hold single stocks.

RIMM has a developers conference going on right now and there is some interesting information available out there regarding Blackberry 10 and Playbook OS 2.

It's interesting seeing where this company is headed. They are thinking beyond smart phones. I need to research what Google and Apple are up to though. The interesting tidbit is that RIMM is driving towards getting their OS in many things from video projectors to your cars entertainment system. Seems like they are trying to go after consumer electronics and seamless integration between devices.

I still don't see Prem Watsa's interest though. I do see the hidden catalyst that Watsa seems to enjoy so much but in other company's the catlyst should provide a more certain outcome. Cement and lumber companies are two recent examples of the kind of things Watsa likes. Oh, that is TXI and ABH.

I sure hope RIM gets into car systems: they did buy QNX, which was originally designed for car systems, and the developer years ago.

The 30 minute video I watched from the deveoper conference (crackberry.com has it available) showed a slide that showed how they want their smart phones, the cloud, automitive systems and a 4th item I can not recall to work together seemlessly. They really are trying to innovate. I don't know how well a tightly coupled system would be though. A car auto system that only works with RIMM based devices? That woudl be bad. But if they do automotive systems that support traditional blue tooth interconnectivity and if you have a blackberry, you get more .... that is fine.

It's pretty unlikely any auto manufacturers are going to sign on to this, and RIM is doing what it does best, firing up the hype machine with no products.

RIM needs to calm down and make some compelling devices.

The most name-whored car sync system is Ford's, and IIRC, part of it is Windows? Every other car maker appears to just market whatever they have available. Can't see that returning them to prosperity...

So we're back to "worring about Greece" apparently... the Dow is down a whole few 40 points as of noon. Week 3 or so of stagnation. Sigh...

Even if Greece gets its bailout, we are likely to be worrying about Greece for the forseeable future. The austerity measures required to get the bailout are creating a deeper recession for much of the EU. Make sure you have some decent-yield stocks in case the market moves sideways. The good news is if jobs continue to pick up, even Greeces problems won't hold us back that much.

The interesting thing about that is that it bascially demonstrates the concept of a playbook in every car. Of course, this would only be in high end cars to start.

I have a new truck (10 months old) with Sync in it. I tell everyone that I love everything about the truck, except for the Microsoft Sync crap. I'd rather it had no stereo and I could have put something aftermarket in later.

That's a very old list. And the automakers would have to sing on to the idea of tying the automotive OS's exclusively to BB phones.

& I knew about QNX on auto systems, but they're not integrated with BB phones.

Whatever, enjoy your value investing.

RIM may increase in value, but that's likely some months from now. The leaks from RIM aren't encouraging.

Didn't read anywhere that the Automotive OSes would only work with BB phones. Only that BB phones will potentially have extra features. The Playbook in every car refers to the fact the the Porsche demo had a head unit that was essentially a 7" (I believe) playbook. So, a touchscreen head unit with dual touch display. Point being, they are going beyond the traditional playbook market.

The more I read the more I realize Prem Watsa could be onto something here.

Yes, this cigar butt is interesting.

I'm getting blown away by Apple's performance since earnings, kept waiting for a pullback, bought it back a week ago...

I think we'll see $500 soon. Institutional buying has been fierce.

yeah it's been pretty incredible.

I'm only holding a small # of shares w/ an avg price of $350ish and actually thought about selling it at $400 but so glad I held on haha.

I will consider adding more if it has a significant pullback, but at this point, it doesn't look like it will until after it hits $500.

Also, I'm trying to save money to dump into Facebook when it becomes tradable

Just gambled $5k into penny stock Madcatz. Got in today at .57/share. Their marketcap is only $36m. Here's hoping they hit >$2/share again like last year.
