I may be okay with playing AAPL if it weren't for the exponential growth it's displayed in the past 2 months. Just look at the 1-5 year charts: nice straight, upward trend, then pow, exponential growth suddenly. And it still hasn't formed a new base yet.

I will admit that it is fantastic to watch. And I am happy for those benefiting from the rapid increase.

Somehow, I do not mind being left out on this. I suppose it is because I really do not understand the exaggerated fashionable marketed hype of the product and the company. Maybe I am being foolish, it is hard to tell.

Any other KFN investors on this board? They've been amongst my best investments - even for quarterly dividends alone.

Do you have any other information on it? Like why you bought it? It looks undervalued in many ways. They are growing revenue, income and dividends fairly quickly. All good things in my book. The thing that seems to scare poeple off may be the collateralized loan obligation ("CLO") transactions that they own. This creates high risk/reward.

7%+ on dividends? that is pretty good. I would take that as a long term investment if the stock wasn't a big risk.

I'm aware of what is going on with RIMM. And I am not that worried at all. I love news like this, I can add to my position. genreating billions in FCF (normalized to $2B+ FCF annually.... adjusting for that one time Playbook write off), check. no debt+billions in short term assets, check. Making some good moves looking forward, check. $7B market cap, check.

And I accept that there is a chance that it might not work out. I just don't see it that way. In other countries, people talk about how they want a Blackberry like how people in the US want an iPhone.

Listen, I don't care. Things have changed greatly in the past 6 months. And they are going to change even more in the next 12.

My research ... read, read, read ... yours ... some analysts said so. Yawn.

You worship some guy named Peter Misek. I worship a guy names Prem Watsa. Boy, do I feel stupid.

Wrong, I don't worship anyone. There's your problem right there. All that reading you do, and you can't even see the writing on the wall that's in front of your face.

I bought it back in mid 2010 - I have a family member who works for a sister company of theirs who told me how solid their board was. I dipped in back then without really doing any DD. but then saw the general buy consensus from FT, saw their revenues rising, got quite happy with the massive dividend payouts. so kept putting in money and at the moment it's also one of my largest holdings. Even if the stock value was flat, the massive dividend which has been stable since I started investing in them makes it a super low effort high reward investment.

BAC under $8 is tempting...

Not after you find out that it's gone as low as $5 or $6 within the past few months... All that on "Greece, Europe, and economic growth woes". Last I checked, we're still worrying about "Freece, Europe, and economic growth" every other day.

Market today: Die mother fu*ker, die...

What happened to nVidia today? Seems AMD dropped too. Guess it is an overall chip manf. drop due to poor sales in PC.

Beautiful... Just beautiful.

My half-in-half-out will hopefully pay off. The other half is in a supermarket chain that already dropped 10% from missed earnings (when I bought), so aside from some collateral damage, I don't see too much of a downside (hopefully). Otherwise, I'll collect the reasoanbly sized dividend.

More Greece worries? We still aren't passed this? Plus people are surprised Europe is in recession? I highly doubt that. I think this is just the people who bail quickly, bailing out as they always do. This may be only a short lived fall depending on the jobs numbers. Either way I have money on the sidelines which I will put back in if we fall far enough.

Combination of Greece and China - aka: the media found some "concerning" events and blamed it on them.

Just remember that the last time the markets "sold off", they went back up to par by day's end. Let's see if that'll happen this time around.

I wouldn't mind a major correction given the boatload of cash I have on the side.
