What ever happened to Azurik? IIRC he posted in the previous ATOT stock market threads pretty regularly, and had some interesting insight.

[Azurik] lost heaps on the rambus fiasco and think has been hiding away in shame since.

Sometimes I think you try to be funny, but fail miserably.

I've been on travel fairly regularly and have a lot of side projects - still stalk this thread weekly, which I created 6 years ago. I don't see any useful insights from you in the past 6 years.

Yes, I lost a lot in RMBS in the past year, but so what? I'm still up overall on it significantly and up in the past 6 years. Nice date-range cherry-picking though.

The unfortunate story regarding RIMM is that it was almost a monopoly in the business market and had a ton of fans in the consumer division. They slept through their rising profits and the iPhone and Android systems came in and quickly gained steam... it's almost a identical story with Windows Mobile. I love my WinMo to death, but they didn't fix issues and enhance the user experience enough. Consumers were the first to go and businesses jumped ship to Blackberry.

Nope. But I did pretty well in the football pool at work despite not watching football or knowing any of the teams - I just picked the teams that I heard of.

When the amount of variables gets so stupidly big like I described, maybe it does become gambling...

hmm jumped into GMCR at $50, had a stop at $45 and it crossed a few times today but the stop hasn't triggered. Does this mean there are no buyers? I was planning on exiting and then jumping back in once it looks like it bottomed. Made a mistake the first time but hoping I get it right the second.

They're opening RIM secure servers to iPhones and Google.

And other columns/analyses say people "lost faith" in buyers coming forward to take over the company. It did pop like 8% last week on speculation of buyers on Thurs/Fri, so the lord giveth and taketh away...

Also, remember that RIM's a Canadian company, so some change (looks like abotu 0.50% today) is attributed to the CAD-US exchange rate.

Looking for a recommended book or serious of discussions on option strategies. I've visited OIC thoroughly.

I recommend learning the basics at OIC first. And a book I would recommend is "Options Volatility and Pricing" by Sheldon Natenberg, once you get the basics down at OIC.

And avoid any kind of "Academy" that offers training for money. All you need will be at OIC options education.

To be a proficient options trader it would take I would say 5-8 years of screen time (real trading not paper trading) and a full understanding of the concepts/Gammas/etc..

Think of Options trading more like Chess VS plain equity trading more like checkers.

It is a very profitable venture but only for those willing to put in lots of time and sweat equity.

I wouldn't pay more than $10/share for RIMM today.
