AMZN is up 14% in after hours on stronger-than-expected earnings. Congrats to all of you that bought at ~$180, I should have jumped in.

edited for accuracy.

Just can't touch that thing with a 10 yard pole. I know they're not NFLX, but P/E of 143.1... No, thank you.

I'd also say hold. It's almost guaranteed that AAPL will be on the way up for the next few days - all the sheep who bailed now want pack in after being wowed by earnings.

Will it hit $700? Possibly, just on momentum alone. Could it take a huge dump? Oh ya... Don't overexpose yourself and you'll be fine.

I am actually way overexposed in AAPL. I'm thinking of just selling and taking my meager profits for now. My plan was to try and grab some short term profits and I could do it now. But I"m also greedy and want to see where it goes after having great quarterly results. What to do....what to do...maybe sell 1/2?

DOW 14,000 here we come!

Earnings are definately kicking it up, with many companies easily beating estimates. Unfortunately European news just keeps getting worse so expect a big fall after earnings are through. I would sell in May except my utilities (EXC, PPL) and Oil (BP) have gone no where, only Carnival (CCL) has done me well since last earnings.

VVUS's ED pill (Avanfil) got approved. Might not pop much since it's a crowded market. If you add approval of their weight loss drug (Qnexa) which will hopefully happen in the summer, this could go much higher. I'm currently in 500 shares at $12. Sold 500 already when it popped due to the panel approval.

OCZ earnings on Tuesday. A little bit nervous, but I just don't see too much more downside here...

SSD and memory prices have been dropping. Also, people tend not to spend money during the first 3-4 months of the year. January, February, and March is recovery time paying Christmas bills and taxes. The first quarter of the year is always the weakest. Until people get their tax refunds, then they start spending again.

The current OCZ earnings report may be a little lower than expected but can be expected to increase as the year goes on.

I'm really more interested in the guidance for the next year rather than anything else. Also, with >40% of the float short on OCZ, it could definitely be in for a squeeze if the earnings are half-decent.

good thing no one signed up for the newsletter.

Not sure which way the market is heading. Lots of worries but most earnings reports have been positive. There is the threat or a slow down coming in the summer.

Hopefully AAPL just had to fill the gap since it jumped up during after hours. Although I really have no idea. Needless to say, I'm not thrilled at the last few days. I'm sitting about even right now and am deciding what to do. I hate to miss out on making money, but I hate to lose money even more.

Ya, it's funny... You feel like crap when you "don't make money", but then you feel worse when you lose money. Can't win.

My oil sands is moving up slow but steadily. Too bad I didn't hold onto cash on the Canadian side and just plow everything into that when it hit a stupidly low price a week ago.

So what are thoughts on F? From what I've seen of their 2013 lineup, they should sell well. But if Europe and Asia are lagging through the summer it'll hurt overall sales.

I don't know that I'd call up 2% skyrocketing given it's generally upward trend over the course of the last 6-9 months.

People have been saying that the average age of cars in North America are at record highs, and at some time soon, there should be a huge surge in sales. That was when F was at $15+, IIRC.

What is going on with Intel...why is it skyrocketing!?

I wouldn't consider 2% skyrocketing. If you mean the steady growth since last year, i'm assuming it's because they don't have any real competition from AMD in the desktop/server space and they're starting to make inroads into the mobile space to duke it out with ARM.

I wouldn't say its skyrocketing, but it is staying in an upward trend thanks to a new x86 mobile phone being released ( http://www.anandtech.com/show/5770/lava-xolo-x900-review-the-first-intel-medfield-phone ) and its new Ivy Bridge processors. This tends to happen to all tech companies when a new product is being released. Microsoft, which had been in the doldrums for a whole year, is finally up because of the upcoming Windows 8 release. They usually fall if the product doesn't meet expectations.
