Are a lot of stock/finance/brokerage sites crawling for anybody else? This hype has got to be through the roof.

At current quote, I'd put 100% of my money into JNJ and sleep well at night for 30 years. Has a nice yield right now also.

If you buy individual stocks though, you need to keep an eye on them. With JNJ, keep an eye on the top brass and make sure that they stay lean.

Of the ones listed, I'd avoid PM altogether.

I have a long term fear over beverage companies like KO due to the water crisis that is coming that people live to ignore.

MSFT is tech. It is not a buy and forget stock. That sector changes to fast. 15 years ago, no one would have said that Google and Apple would be threatening MSFT. In a small amount of time, amazing amounts of chang happen in tech.

In my opinion, if you want to sleep well, buy these in 25% chunks:
JNJ
BRK
FFH
MKL

Of the ones above, I'd toss out JNJ first. But it is definitely a good company.

I don't like Microsoft as much as Intel. Intel pays a better dividend and they've got a lot more room to grow than MSFT. Windows Phone is nice and all, but users are pretty much either in the Android camp or the iOS camp. Windows 8 seems to be indicative of management stupidity -- it's not going to be the fail that Vista was, but I don't think consumers on desktops and laptops will enjoy it very much.

Intel's extending their technology lead, they have a stranglehold on the laptop/desktop CPU market, they're dominant in the high margin datacenter world, and they've got a good shot at technological dominance on the mobile SoC side with Silvermont. Coupled with their strong marketing team, I think this could translate into some serious growth for Intel. On top of all this, Intel keeps increasing their dividend (twice in the last 18 months).

Just on an aside. Good that everyone is using limits and not mkt's; however I don't know that I would necessarily leave any order open long. Quotes start in a couple of minutes. Why not look at color before putting in an order?

We know what the first three steps are, after that there isn't a great amount of color on where we close.

Break -> Pop -> Fill -> ...

Was reading the wire - someone had a $4000 limit order on FB? Srsly?

$7,200.

They are non-firm quotes or stub quotes.

Move on. Makes a good story though. Happens everytime a stock gets halted. Makes the market find a real price. Quotes were probably .01$ and $7,200 then they move in.

Do not understand why anyone is buying FB. I'm just ignoring it altogether. MAybe some of my stocks will be ignored and tank due to the focus on FB. That would be a good thing!

A food and his money doth part. I guess they're worried if the market hit $4001/share or something. :\

Again, these are stubs and non-firm quotes.

Often you see 1 cent asks and $100,000 bids. They aren't real quotes.

Halik can explain this much better if he pops in.
