i don't watch much regular season basketball, but holy shit what the fuck is up with the officiating in the bulls/wizards game? it was terrible on sunday, and it's even worse tonight. are homecourt calls this awful during the regular season? it's just laughable how one sided this game is being called, and the wizards have been leading the entire game. this is embarassing.

Home teams get the calls. Welcome to the NBA for the last 25 years. At least.

yeah that is lame. you can hear gortat getting slapped and no fouls called. he just now got pushed down on the ground as he shot and no foul was called. it's ridic.

someone literally just fell on top of beal and they called a foul on beal. these announcers are baffled at how bad these calls are as well so it's not just me. this is just amazing how bad these calls are.

lol.

just now there was a charge on noah, and the announcers said that joey crawford was motioning to call a blocking call but another ref called it first. crawford has been the one making all of the awful calls for the most part.

The 6th foul on Howard the other night was the worst I've seen so far in these playoffs. I do believe in Adam Silver and think he will try to make it right. He is very different than Stern in so many ways.

All that said, the NBA is tough to officiate. The speed of the game from the floor is unbelievable.

yeah i didn't see that call but i heard about it on the radio today. hear the nba actually said they botched that one too, which could have affected the outcome of the game had howard hit the 2 free throws (LOL YEAH RIGHT).

can't believe the wizards are up 6 with 42 seconds left in OT though.

EDIT:

lol make that up 2 with 34 seconds left.

Goodnight Chicago, going down 0-2 starting at home. Just as is always the case, Thibs kills his guys all season long, never develops anything resembling an offense, and leaves me wondering why few can see that his guys can't gear up for the playoffs while every other team does. The Wiz haven't even played that great either.

they have been playing good in spurts, but it's hard to play consistent when the refs keep calling bullshit calls.

i mean that 6th foul on nene ... are you serious? it was called late as shit too, after hinrich was on the ground and a followup shot was taken. then in the replay he didn't even touch him.

crawford must have been had money on the bulls or something.

i'm not one to blame losses on the refs or anything, but the first 2 games were just terrible. with the terrible free throws and some stupid turnovers by the wizards, they are very fortunate to be up 2-0 coming home.

Bulls just don't have enough weapons to keep up.. Wall can't guard Augustine though.. Props for Wittman switching Ariza on him late. Gortat should also sit vs Noah and Gibson, too slow-footed (I can't believe Gortat went for Noah's fake at the free throw line.) Wall really made some great passes. As long as the Wiz can keep moving the ball on offense...get their shooters open looks, Bulls can't score enough (Bulls went almost 8 minutes without a basket to close out the 4th/OT). I'm gonna try to go on Sunday (hopefully a closeout game!)

I wasn't watching until late in the game, but I like to think (pretend? ) calls even out in the long run. The Wizards definitely got a few breaks late in the game when they're closing the gap. All the same, happy to see them succeeding, lot of players on Wiz that I like.

Pacers actually looked like "The Pacers" again last night.

I love how everyone talks about the Howard call but completely overlooks the foul on RoLo and Aldridge that took them out of the game. Those were even more bullshit.

Aside from the terrible officiating that went both ways (no surprise when Joey Crawford is involved), that was a great game last night. If ever there was a time when the ball don't lie, it was with Hinrich's free throw last night lol.

Oh, while I usually love TNT Overtime for streaming games, they did something truly maddening last night lol. During the last ten seconds of regulation in the Wiz/Bulls game, the "action cam" spent the entire final Wizards possession... looking at the Wizards bench. My only gauge on what happened was how happy/sad Gortat looked lol.

Aldridge's sixth foul was absolutely a foul, and this is coming from a Blazers fan who hates the Rockets with a passion. More importantly, it was an idiotic move by Aldridge to set an off-ball screen in the backcourt for absolutely no reason; even if it had been clean, what competitive advantage are you gaining there? Get up on the left block and post up Jones again and the game is over.

The last foul on RoLo was ridiculous. Ditto for Howard. There was bad officiating all around in that game. But LA put himself in a position to draw a whistle for absolutely no reason, and that's just not good common sense.

Maybe it was the 5th foul then? I don't remember much other than thinking WTF on the call.

My prediction for today -
Spurs will win, there is not much of a competition there. Then the Mavericks get close it coz spurs are slacking and not taking it seriously.

Portland will win again. Rockets will come out all fired up and aggressive but they are not at their best when they do that so there is a good chance they will fall.

Miami, well they will again be playing with 8 people on the court so there is no competition there.

Dragic was a beast this year. It's a shame the Suns fell off coming down the stretch (probably cost Hornacek the coach of the year honors), but that team has a bright future.

I feel like im the only Suns fan here.

Dragic was a badass this year and was totally deserving. The Suns should have been in the running for so many awards.

COTY: Hornacek
MIP: Dragic, Markieff Morris, Gerald Green
6th man: Markieff Morris

Dragic should have been an all star this year. He was a beast while Bledsoe was out.

I agreed 100% with the call on Aldridge. He was moving and it was right in front of the ref. The one on Lopez was suspect.

not necessarily, overachieving is difficult to reproduce.

Not to mention being the 9th best team in the West is arguably the worst placement in the NBA. Technically you're good enough to be in a 16 team playoff field. But instead you're relegated to a low lottery draft pick for all your efforts. Although I don't necessarily agree with it, the current vogue amongst NBA GMs is to be as bad as possible if you're not a playoff team.

There was even some snickering in the final weeks that the Hawks wanted to play the lottery instead of being swept in the first round, but the Knicks had dug too big a hole.

God, the Spurs looked terrible tonight ... so many turnovers, and lack of defense.

This game better wake them up or they won't make it past the first or second round.
