I need some help in QB.
I have Rivers (nov. is not his month but dec. is) he is on a bye, I snagged up Matt Ryan off the FA. Rivers looked like JUNK, Ryan isn't the best but I orginally picked him up for a 1 week plug and play. Now Mark Sanchez.... Should i drop Ryan for Sanchez and hopefully use him down the road.
I'm in the fight for a playoff slot. Not 100% on Rivers being my playoff QB. Options out there are Culter, fitzpatrick, orton. Seems like most people are stocking up 2QB. I could make a trade with someone holding Stafford, he has been trying to give him away but i dont think he is that much better then the FA Pool.
Ryan or Stafford are decent options. Rivers' playoff schedule slightly worries me with NE, Denver, and @SF. NE could be a plus matchup since it's at San Diego and he would be forced to throw if they get behind. Denver, more of the same but their defense is better than NE on paper but they don't play as well on the road so that game should be close due to divisional rival. @SF, always a tough place to score points, not good.
Ryan has @GB, PIT, @NO which is slightly better. With Ryan, you have to look at the other team's pass rush because those are the teams that give him fits, especially on the road. @GB is average/middle of the pack for pass rush, but it's at Lambeau in December and GB is #6 in takeaways. Yikes. PIT, has a sneaky good pass rush (just moved into top 5 graded on the year) but subpar pass coverage, a very similar profile to Baltimore that gave Ryan fits. However, that's in the dome so Ryan should be competitive, plus vs Big Ben could = shootout. @NO, below average pass rush and always shootout potential so Ryan is fine.
Stafford has TB, MN, @CHI. TB, you won't find a better matchup, Megatron/Tate should destroy. MN, they like to run clock control by rushing the ball a lot but that probably won't matter due to DET's stout D which absolutely terrorized Teddy and co in the first meeting. Stafford should dominate. @CHI, has good run D but piss poor pass coverage so it looks ok. However, on the road in December vs divisional foe could = trap game since CHI runs the ball so well with Forte, but there is shootout potential here IF the weather cooperates in late December in Chicago.
Cutler, do not like with Lions in weeks 13 and 16, Dallas in 14.
Sanchez has the worst schedule of everyone with SEA, DAL, @WAS. No way - Seattle will force TO's, DAL will clock control any fantasy potential, and Washington = divisional foe in late December. Ugh.
Overall Stafford has the best 3 weeks, but Ryan has a complementary schedule where you could play Rivers vs NE and then Ryan vs PIT and @NO. If I could choose between all 3, I'd use Stafford for 14 (TB in dome), 15 (MN in dome), Ryan 16 (@NO in dome), and not play Rivers. Maybe see if the Stafford owner will take Rivers for him, and if not then add another player while picking up Matty Ice off WW. Prior to playoffs, Ryan has a pretty soft schedule aside from AZ in week 13, which you could play Stafford at home vs CHI.
