I don't recall if it was last year or this year it rolls off the books, but the amnesty requires the team to cover the difference between the contracts. So Miller, or whoever else got amnestied, would make the same amount regardless. The offer they take just specifies how much each of the salary each team is responsible for.

With a healthy rose, its Bulls and Cavs. It's painful to consider rose still has to prove his health is sustainable and that the jury is still out, but it is what it is.
I think Bird really screwed up with Stephenson. Since it wasn't about per year salary, he should have simply given stephenson the contract length that he wanted. Easy to say in hindsight, but with an impact player like that who had many other suiters, one has to accept who has the leverage and who doesn't, and make a deal happen to keep him.
I think Rose's health and ability to be that max contract player being in question is a good thing (if he is healthy). He will have a chip on his shoulder and we already know he is a worker.
If he's on the floor (on his feet, and not his back, clutching...) I've no doubt he will be better than ever once he gets his game rhythm back. I'm looking forward to him carrying that 'chip' and destroying the best pg's except Rondo in the league again.

Derrick Rose and Rajon Rondo are both inferior to Chris Paul at the moment, based almost solely around the fact that Paul has played in more games than those two combined in the past three years. Rose hasn't played more than half a season in three years and Rondo hasn't in the last two. They're both great, but that doesn't do you much good if they're rehabbing an injury. And even if they were healthy, I'd take Paul over Rondo.
