Spain 6/1? Have they suffered any injuries or losses recently? I thought they were "the best team in history"?

I don't follow soccer, but enjoy watching it every now and then. Will watch the semi-finals and the finals, maybe even the quarters but that's it. Will root for Brazil

I'm hedging my bets with Group B since they have Spain (won the last one) and Netherlands (long shot but good), but I only pay attention to football once every four years or so.

Brazil at home with 3/1 odds looks like the best bet.

But I won't be watching a single minute of it. World Cup soccer is not any more palatable than any other form of soccer. It's still incredibly boring and it's decided by which team can fake falling down and crying like a little girl more convincingly.

I think Belgium will be the surprise team this year (and would love to see them get places).

Routing for USA (clearly) but I know it's not realistic for them to win.......I'm still supporting my country though.

I would like to see Uruguay, Holland or Argentina win (in that order).

I would LOVE to see Spain, Portugal, Brazil, Germany, Italy fall FLAT on their face and cry in misery.

World Cup soccer is suppose to be "boring". These players don't play together much and it not the PRIME of soccer.

If you want to watch entertaining/best "soccer" tune to English Premier league or Champions league.

Well I'll be rooting for my Spain gents of course, but it seems like Brazil is pretty well poised at home. Would be ok with Argentina since Messi's there.

Pretty excited for this. Even though it's not the best football in the world, it's always exciting since the stage is so big. Should be fun. Very happy the time difference is reasonable this time too.

World Cup is just a chance for everyone to come together, as soccer players, and bitch about the new ball technology being bad and how the USA got cheated out of a win again.

Despite that, I love it. Zidane's headbutt? Best moment in soccer, IMO.

I am still betting on Spain! They will win, just you watch.

And if they do, it will be another boring world cup or euro.

I hate how Spain plays.....hate it with passion. But I guess it works, so it is what it is.

I'm hoping they don't even make it out of the group (I know, not too realistic).

Anyways, I'm sad EPL is over. Can't wait until August!!! I will miss it, my weekends feel little more empty now.

It used to work. But the way to beat it is well known by everyone now, and their squad isn't getting any younger.

I'd bet on them having an early exit. Would go so far as to say that they may have trouble getting out of the group (behind Chile & Holland).

Soccer just doesn't excite me. I'll probably watch the final game just because I watch all major sporting events.. But I give 0 fux about who wins, or who is in it.

Obviously rooting for USA, but my realistic picks/roots are Germany and Uruguay. I like the way they play. Skillful on the ball and passing in the opponent's third, combined with physical play. Spain puts me to sleep.

Brazil will win because if they lose, country descends into chaos.
The country has already descended into chaos, and rightfully so. They should have spent the money in other ways rather than host the World Cup and the Olympics.
