Well, he did fall in the box so that is what got called. There was definitely foul but it should have been free kick.

If ya watch a lot of soccer youll see that called both ways probably 50/50. So close to the box some will give it on the edge, some give a pk since the foul does continue into the box. At full speed though i usually just chaulk it up to the ref and how hard of a foul it is. Barely anything a FK is ok. Hard challenge or clearly a foul...PK. Least that is how i feel most of the time

I do watch a lot of football and any referee will tell you that it wasn't a penalty. There isn't a 50/50 chance with that.

All contact was done outside of the 18 yard box.

Thiago Silva has already committed the foul and both players aren't in the box as yet.

Then you know that type of call happens every single weekend in leagues across the world. And nice pic. Thats great for you and me. Doesnt help the ref in any way who only gets to see it once in full speed.

Ref probably saw it as this....red card and a free kick. Or yellow and a pk.

lets be honest this game is barely more than a friendly so he probably went with the yellow and pk to keep it a bit more fair.
