*shrug*

Don't get me wrong, I hate seeing all the injuries, especially all the ACL's that happen year in and year out. It's something that definitely needs to be looked at, and definitely something that Lewis didn't deserve (looked like a non-contact injury at that, so sucks even more). I never ever wish ill will on any player. Never would I ever condone a Tanya Harding on a player and definitely the speediest of recoveries to any player that goes down. It's their career on the line after all.

Anything that causes the pats and their fans angst though, I'm completely okay with. I'm good with that pinch of salt.

Onto other topics... Luke McCown to IR for back surgery for unknown reasons all of a sudden? Saints are in like Flynn.

Well that's good to hear. I can understand from a Bill's fan point of view you get tired of beating the Pats once in a dog's age. I got tired of Manning shredding our D several years in a row, we simply could not stop that man. I did want to see him absorb a brutal sack or two but never wanted to see an injury. I'll make one exception, Greg Hardy, seeing him out of football would not bother me one bit.

That's what happens when you fuck around for 3+ years and don't manage to put even a semi-competent offensive line in place. It all adds up to a lot of wear and tear.

Kinda sucks seeing that, he had struggled through much of this season but looked like his old self last week and now this happens.

Andrew Luck out 2-6 with lacerated kidney. Thanks for beating PFM and the Broncos, now get some well deserved rest. What a shitty division champ the AFC South will produce this year, for sake of watchable playoff football I hope the Jags take it.

I was just reading on ESPN how the Colts won by letting Luck take hits. Hopefully this will make other teams think twice about using the same strategy to beat the Broncos - except maybe in the Super Bowl.

That blows. He's a rare talent, the kind of QB you build a perennial SB contender around. Tom Brady is, too, of course, but put him on the Colts and see how long he'd last. At the end of the day, football is a team game. Neither of these guys are literally superman, able to leap crappy schemes and lack of surrounding talent in a single bound.

Talib loses his appeal of the one game suspension, link. I was almost shocked to hear Elway say this, "Obviously, [I'm] very disappointed," Broncos executive VP John Elway said in a statement. "We're all very disappointed, as a team, that it was not reduced."..

Are you trolling us John?, your lucky it wasn't a month you F-ing moron.

Yea, I don't think the Pats will adopt that strategy with a 38yr old QB and an O-line that is in shambles right now. What sucks about losing Lewis was the Pats had the option to keep Gronk in to block and still get good production because of Lewis ability to make people miss. White may be able to catch the ball but he will be tackled on the spot with no YAC.

Two different QB's. Luck holds the ball too long and their offense seems to dependent on pushing the ball up field. Brady also has the quickest release in the NFL. Also, an argument can be made that Brady's line probably isn't any better. The last game he had a lineman playing left tackle (his blind spot) for the first time in his career.

Forgot that for RT, NE rotated a TE and a center. And their starting center is an undrafted rookie.

Brady would release the ball more quickly than Luck and wouldn't receive the beating that Luck did.

All good points.

Given the choice of just one player from the entire league to start a team with, all other things being equal, including his ups and downs this year, I might still take Andrew Luck.

Just sayin'.

Bummed he got hurt.

Sad luck, man.

Then why given an ineffective O-Line to start sat year did Brady completely stink for the first few games? Including getting smoked by the Chiefs making people openly wonder if he should retire?

He didn't play well those first few games and we had just traded away a very respected lineman the week before the 1st game. And the O-line wasn't just bad they had a lot of drive killing penalties.

This is also NE, people will freak out if they lose a game. We have been spoiled with winning.

True, he has taking a beaten this year. But I may put Cam in that discussion.

I'd take Cam. Just about impossible to stop when his passing game is going. He made it look easy against the Packers. Imagine if he had more than Olsen to work with.

Wait, if we are talking starting a franchise and he'll be my QB for the next 10 years I'd take Cam, but for one season or one game I'm taking Rodgers.

Right now, ten years I'd take Cam too. But going to qualify that with I have to see him play some good balanced teams.
One game or one season, I'm taking Brady hands down esp. this year.
To make one TD throw from more than 25 yards, I'd take Rodgers.

This isn't the first lacerated kidney in the NFL this season too. Pissing blood is no small thing.

Does anyone else reach for their back when they hear the term "Lacerated kidney"? I mean how the fuck? It's sort of the nails-on-a-chalkboard phrase of injuries. You can't just put a band-aid on it.

Yes, I know when you're on the football field you're just a meatbag pinball machine... so rhetorical question.

I didn't see/hear it, but it wouldn't surprise me if he didn't just shuffle out and say that in complete monotone, as if it were completely expected and he just HAD to come out and make a statement for the record but couldn't just go off the rez and say something like, "Well no shit it didn't get reduced because Talib was a dumbass..."

Oh, he was serious, Jesus Christ John, your guy very well could have injured this dude's eye and your squawking about being "disappointed" that he is indeed going to sit our one game. His words should have been "we regret this incident happened and we will work with Talib to help him maintain composure while he's playing. What happened was inexcusable and unacceptable to the team and organization.
