Pretty crazy week, almost seemed like college ball with the endings with jets, pats, pack, and hawks.

And lol at the fool saying there's no parity in the league.

I think most people are saying there is less overall parity (between the top and the bottom of the league). Though, it was a good week for good matchups of equally situated teams, for whatever reason (injuries, just suck, divisional teams) there are.

Ronda Rousey gets KnockedTFO...
Manning Benched
Packers lose at home to a winless Lions
Bears won
Seattle Lost at home *AGAIN*
Eli doesn't have a last minute heroic win over Brady

What sort of bizzaro weekend did I wake up to today?

It was a crazy weekend all over, even outside football.

We were watching the Buccs game which was a bit of an odd one to begin with also, then it went to the Lions/Packers game and it almost seemed like they were trying to lose it.

I guess the Patriots pulled that one off again, personally I was hoping he'd miss the FG but hit it.

The Manning issue was just another oddity I guess.

LOL! What is the rule for being a fan? Do you have to stick with a team you liked when you were a kid? Do you have to declare yourself a fan of a losing team first? Can you never change teams?

it's all the rage on AT. All the fans of every team that is not your team are, by default, bandwagon fans for that team. No team has real fans except your team.

Especially if you happen to have only started being a fan of your dynasty team shortly after some top 2 all-time HOF QB took the helm, and have only known the glory years of your team. Never having known decades of loss and misery entitles such short-term fans to epic douchebaggery, and of course such claims of legitimacy on other fans.

It's right up there with an oldsmolaw.

In fairness, though, Pats fans tend to disappear and reappear when they make the Superbowl, and the normal line is "I was a Pats fan before Brady and Belichick".

Perhaps that's true, but they seem to have massive fan turn-over depending on if they're in the Superbowl.

funny, considering who you are responding to.

I saw them play at Fenway Park, Harvard Stadium, Schaffer Stadium, and Gillette. Haven't disappeared yet... I do remember Babe Perilli, Gino Cappelletti, and Mike Holovac. ☺

Do you really get wet when you see my name?

But honestly your post is asanine. You do know the Pats went to the SuperBowl in 96 and the playoffs in 97 and 98. There was no decade of misery before the Superbowl win in 2000.

Just say I jumped on the bandwagon in 96 and it would make your rant sound less stupid.

You obviously weren't old enough or didn't follow the Pats when they got killed by the Bears in the SB XX then followed that with 1-15 and 2-14 seasons before gong back to the SB in 96. The days when the games were blacked-out locally b/c they couldn't sell out the crap hole Sullivan Stadium.

What? Did you even read what you are replying to? We went to the Superbowl in 1996 and went to the playoffs in 97 and 98. We won the Superbowl in 2000. A decade is 10 years. So, again, do the math, there was no decade of misery before Brady won the Superbowl as we had plenty to root for as fans in the 10 years beforehand.

This isn't nuclear physics, the Patriots had a lot of success prior to Brady taking over from Bledsoe.

/facepalm

You're the one with the reading comprehension problem. So, you started being a fan in 1996? Know what our record was to get the first pick in the draft to get Bledsoe?

And don't forget Russ Francis or Steve Grogan, those two were straight-up ballers.

It's the way the Ravens lost that makes me smile and oh, you forgot the wheels coming off the wagon AGAIN for Green Bay against the lowly Lions no less and AT HOME..

And an epic crap-hole it was, $6 million for AN ENTIRE STADIUM, that won't buy you a parking lot now. And those dammed aluminum benches for seating, it was nothing more than a big HS type arena.

I`m just old enough that I started rooting for the Pats during the Rod Rust and the Dick McPherson days, back in the time of `The Home of Missin Sisson`. I think that qualifies as suffering

Except I don't think he's alone, which is why it's going to be so great in the post Brady era.
