Well, this is why you don't change your lineup in the playoffs ....

My team was having a terrible scoring day in the first round of games, so I was getting a little desperate looking for points. I had Woodhead penciled in as my starting RB (we only play one, sixteen team league). Now old Danny has been averaging something like 4 points a week over the last month plus, so I decided to pull him and put CJ Anderson (my first round pick) in, looking for a hail Mary.

Needless to say, worst decision of the year. Woodhead = 36 points. Anderson = 3 points. I lost by 1.8 points.

Oh well, I still made the finals in my other league, but winning a sixteen team league is much more satisfying.

I think I'm going with Julio. It feels wrong to bench a receiver of Browns caliber, but I feel like I have better options.

You never bench Antonio if Ben is playing. Especially in a PPR league (if that's what you are in). There is no better receiver in fantasy when Ben is throwing him the ball.

This is true with Ben playing. However, nobody had done what Brown did to Denver in 14 games this year (nor 2 in years - score a TD on Chris Harris Jr) and Julio was projected more and rightly so, he has more points per snap than Brown this year. Even after yesterday, Julio still has more catches than Brown and PPS - that should give you an idea of how dominant Julio has been, even when he's having a down TD year. Hence matchup-wise, Julio was the safer PPR play vs JAX who have been torched all year long. Denver had been playing shutdown D until yesterday without their top 3 safeties which Ben took advantage of. And Denver for the most part shut Brown down in the first half with only 6 catches for 68 yards, Pitt had to make halftime adjustments to really get it going with Brown. In the end, Denver missing their top 3 safeties is what did them in with Brown exploiting that on 1 TD and Big Ben throwing a perfect lob to Brown in the end zone where Chris Harris Jr guessed wrong to the pylon and got caught. I doubt Pitt would have had as much success if TJ Ward and Bolden were healthy.

The bottom line is that I'm not betting on a receiver going against a DB who hasn't given up a TD in 2 years on the best secondary in the league - not in the fantasy playoffs. It's simply stupid when you have a similarly elite WR available with a dream matchup. Play the percentages. Of course this is a first world problem (Brown or Julio? lol) that 95% of us will never have a problem with but it warranted discussing because of so many variables.

BTW Julio carried me to the 14 man championship - he had a pretty good day as well. And my TE/FLex stack of Reed and Delanie - unstoppable. You can keep Gronk in PPR. Delanie (.37), Gates (.36), and Reed (.35) all have better Points Per Snap than Gronk (.31). In Points Per Opportunity, Reed crushes everyone at .61 and Delanie is sniffing elite Gronk air with .50 vs .52. I lucked out in picking Reed off waivers when someone dropped him after his last injury. Delanie was one of my late draft picks after Rivers at backup QB (lost Romo and Dez for the first half of the season).

Anything's possible, but it'd be better if it was in Detroit with crowd noise. 16 may be a bit too much to ask.

Beckham is a punk, but yeah I hope you guys have your first pick available for the championship. That would just suck. Right now they're saying a suspension is coming:

UPDATE: ODB suspended 1 game but of course no other details yet.

He deserves the 1 day suspension. i wouldn't have minded if he got 3-4 day one. that hit was nothing more then to injure a player.

Deflating a ball is worth 4 but trying to really hurt someone is worth 1. i don't get it.

Wow. I needed 21 points going in... had my choice of cooks or Hightower. Had cooks til noon, changed to hightower. Then 2 minutes before kickoff I switched back to cooks. He banked me 29 points. So I'm in the shiva bowl!!!!


Hopefully they don't bench CaMVP and Julio comes thru vs norman.

I set the top 3 scores of the season in my PPR league (244 this week!) and got knocked out the first week of the playoffs with a 140 something.

Matt Prater can DIAF for missing that 38yd FG with 15sec left. Lost by less than a point in the highest scoring matchup of the year where my opponent went 42% over projected after I go 26% over projected where I was favored by 15% going into the match.

Made the championship in 1 of 3 leagues this year but finished 1st in points (10man), 2nd in points (12man), and 2nd in points (14 man). It was a pretty darn good year, can't control points against. Now to focus on championship week.

Champion, ran the gauntlet (no first round bye) and went from 2nd to 1st in points powered by Kirk/Reed combo last night + Julio and Hurns today. Another year, another league. A lot of fun but way too much work. I may drop down to 2 leagues next year, 3 took too much time to maintain.
