so the Vikings won vs Greenbay in Week17 and now face the Seahawks in Round1 Playoffs.
But why did they win?

if they lost, they would have faced Greenbay again in Round1.

I'd rather face Greenbay than seahawks for Round1.

Yeah, Seattle is going to be tough, so is Pittsburgh on the AFC.
Might be year of the 6th seeds.

Which Super Bowl matchup is the least glamorous for the league? Houston or KC versus AZ or Carolina is my pick. On the flip side, NE or Denver versus Seattle or Green Bay, will probably generate the most interest.

I'm hoping for a Panthers-Patriots rematch

initially i thought the title was a joke, but seeing who made the thread title, and after reading the first post, i don't think it is a joke.

ps.

vikings beat green bay in week 17
seahawks arent the defending superbowl champs

Doesn't matter, both the top NFC seeds are well beyond the AFC top seeds. Early in the year before injury apocalypse NE vs. ARI would have been an amazing SB. Now we either get to see Brady throwing to scrubs, Mr. "going for the all-time INT record" Peyton Manning, Alex Smith and the KC Snores, a Cincy team led by a gimpy Andy Dalton which hasn't made it past the wild card round since Reagan, or a Steelers team that can put up 40+ points or barely get 40 yards any given week. With the possible exception of GB who is playing like shit, pretty much any NFC team in the playoffs seems like a better bet for an entertaining Super Bowl than anyone in the AFC.

Yeah, may be nitpicking. But I think you mean week 18. Week 17 happened this past Sunday.

This is what happens when Retro Rob goes on strike and we get a replacement NFL thread creator.

Yeah, need Retro Rob to create the 'Official NFL Divisional Round' playoff thread. The retard needs to stop creating threads.

Vikings/Packers is a HUGE rivalry. That game was just important to each team as any playoff game.

and?
if the Vikings lost yesterday, they get to play Greenbay AGAIN this week for Round1.

so a insta-chance at another rivalry game plus you don't play the sehawks

Isn't the Seattle/Vikings game going to be outdoors, in Minnesota? In addition to what I posted above, if the Vikings want to make it to the Superbowl, they're likely to face Seattle sooner or later in the playoffs - it might be better to face them on your home turf.

Best case scenario: Steelers beat the Bengals, then Steelers beat the Broncos... Texans beat the Chiefs and Patriots beat the Texans. Then Pats get home field advantage for the AFCCG, pleasepleaseplease.

The thread should probably be called; Official 2015 NFL Playoffs; Wild Card Weekend Thread.

Nope, this is the time for Denver redemptions. They're going to make up for the earlier Steelers loss, and then make up for the KC loss too (sorry, Pats aren't going to be able to protect Brady enough for a win... but it'll be close).

Thanks for standing in for me.

I will make the threads from this point on. Just got busy and had to travel this weekend.

I'd pefer you'd list the games and make your picks and let us make ours so we can discuss them.

Good list of games though!

Coughlin resigns. Given some of his end of game decisions. He probably should have.

since im in DC, redskins all the way.

any holy.. Kirk Cousins (redskins) is the real deal?
he broke the all time passing team record.
plus he's #1 in the nfl for pass completion %.

before I heard those 2 stats, I was going to say if the skins luck into the superbowl, that would be adding salt to the wound for RG3.

but apparently, Cousins has become a better QB than rg3.

Redskins are going to win the SB. Because, RG3 needs a ring before Luck.

oh.. and the irony of getting that ring this season when his coach made him the highest paid bench warmer in the league.
