I'm signed up - I think anyone participating should put their scores up so we can see how we all stack

Agreed. We did last year in a similar thread and that is the point of this thread.

I'm doing scaled throughout, so not too bad for me. Front rack unloaded lunges and jumping chin over bar pullups. Pretty big scale if you ask me. When I saw the RX I thought they would unload some of the weight for the lunges but still require them to be overhead. Guess not.

I am registered as a Masters 45-49. Was planning to do all scaled so I could put up competitive scores, but I could manage this Rx and my box's intramural contest will push for Rx as it gives a higher score. Dilemma...

I will not re-test. The only thing I might do differently is take much bigger steps for each lunge. I was regularly having to perform 10 lunges because I would just miss on the 9th lunge.

We just did overhead lunges last night, not really expecting to see them in the open. We'll see how it goes ha

16.1 Scaled

Score 277 (10 rounds plus 17reps)

ouch...

Fu . . . . . c . . . this is my big fear with the scaled workout. A million lunges and burpees. Jumping pullups aren't a big factor IMO. Guess I will find out on Sunday.

Kind of sucks that I have to do the scaled workout for this one as I can RX the lunges. The C2B is where I would have serious trouble.

That said, nice job!

16.1: 148 rx (5 rounds + completing up to the 2nd 25 ft of lunges)

Nice job man. That is a tough workout. Watched a bunch of folks in my gym do the RX workout tonight. Two of the top three male athletes in my gym scored 211 and 210 which is insane. Most everyone else was in the 115-130 range. In all instances the last 5 minutes looked excruciating.

The front rack lunges at 45# were challenging. The jumping pullups were a joke. Burpess just suck. Holding 95# overhead and lunging would just be misery.

Well you killed it compared to me. I got 200 reps flat on the scaled. Burpees killed me (as they always do). Lunges weren't a problem though my quads are saying otherwise today.

For me the workout was basically: 10-12 seconds of lunges. 30-45 seconds of burpees, 10-12 seconds of lunges, 10-12 seconds of jumping pullups . . . . over and over. By the 15 minute mark I was still doing 10-12 seconds on everything except burpees, but the burpees were taking me close to a minute and I needed 10-15 second breaks before doing the other movements because I was so gassed .

On the plus side I did everything unbroken. Wish I pushed a little faster on the burpees though. If I had an extra 30-40 seconds I could have had another 23 reps.

Oh well - here is to hoping that 16.2 is more up my alley. Pullups and burpees are two of my worst exercises, so it wont be hard for the other workouts to be more in my wheelhouse. Then again, we could see snatch thrusters.

Did my 16.1 workout on Friday evening, 173 Reps RX'ed

Thought about re-doing it on Sunday since I didn't feel exhausted at all and definitely held some back on the lunges, but my glutes are fried.

Our regionals hopeful (one of the coaches) got 297 reps yesterday, which currently puts him around 4th place in the Southern California region, but there's a lot of scores that haven't been registered yet, so we'll see where it goes.

Right now top in the world is Noah Ohlsen at 350 reps, but most of the big dogs haven't put in their scores yet and probably won't until this late afternoon.

Thanks. This really sucked. At 5'6", my steps were averaging about 2.5 ft which meant 10 lunges. I was able to do all sets of lunges unbroken but I had to take several seconds before each set and I had so little left for the burpees and c2b.

Can you do deadhang pullups and regular kipping pullups?

I can do two-three sets of 5-6 deadhang pullups in a workout but not much more. Can't kip at all. I would like to say its because of some old shoulder injuries (really f'ed up my right shoulder pitching in college), but its probably more due to insufficient strength/weight ratio. If I use a offset grip (left hand facing away, right hand facing inward) I can do many more pull/chin ups than with both hands facing forward - so the issue is definitely right shoulder related. I'm sure pullups would improve if I dropped 20 more lbs though.

Pullups are a very frustrating GOAT for me, as they are really the only thing that I haven't gotten any better at since starting crossfit a year and half ago. I can even do 20-25 chained double unders now and I thought I would NEVER get those.

Scaled #1: 528 Reps

528 scaled is f'ing ridiculous and borderline hard to believe. Even with the jumping pullups you would have to be in ridiculous cardiovascular shape to accomplish that. At that pace it would be necessary to complete a movement every 2.27 seconds for 20 minutes. Or about 1 full round (26 reps) per minute. It would be fun to watch a video of that participant doing the workout.

365 RX is also insane. The best male athlete in our gym scored 228, and he is in insane shape.

If you can do that many strict pullups I would think it's just getting the technique down for kipping. When you try to kip can you get to the top of the first pullup?

What do you guys think 16.2 is going to be? From the hints I think its going to be some kind of cluster and a carry. E.g., squat clean thrusters and a farmers/firemans carry. Either that or a cluster and some kind of row interval.
