I suspect double unders will be in this workout. I'd like this workout to be similar to 16.1 with a good couplet and then a heavy lift, which would likely be a snatch, possibly a thruster. I doubt they'll re-do the 1RM clean and jerk from last year. I'd love to see a heavy deadlift and double under couplet, possibly even throw in a toes to bar to make it a triplet (making it very similar to 15.1).

I heavily doubt they will put in a farmer or fireman carry. 1: Carry's are difficult to do for many people since it requires specialized equipment 2: Farmer carry's at 70# (maximum feasible I suspect) are too light for top level athletes and would turn it into a farmer run.

Scaled version is:

Beginning on a 4-minute clock, complete as many reps as possible of:
25 hanging knee raises
50 single-unders
15 squat cleans, 95 / 55 lb.

If completed before 4 minutes, add 4 minutes to the clock and proceed to:
25 hanging knee raises
50 single-unders
13 squat cleans, 115 / 75 lb.

If completed before 8 minutes, add 4 minutes to the clock and proceed to:
25 hanging knee raises

Ooof. Just heard that Dan Bailey missed a rep at 275# and is withdrawing his score. Man that would suck.

That's freaking awesome! Congrats! I'm guessing your 1RM is probably around 200# now if you were able to get that many reps at 155#

Well... Tested it last night and didn't get out of the first round Rx. Had about 30s left and got in ten cleans. Really disappointed in my double unders and toes to bar.

Retested again this morning with about the same results. Going to take it easy the rest of today and maybe give it another whirl tomorrow or Monday morning.

10 cleans in 30 seconds is no joke!

knowing that you are shooting to get out of round 1, plan accordingly. How can YOU best get through 25 TTB quickly? Same question for dubs.

Retested twice today. First time about the same as my previous two attempts. I played a bit with my double unders and started doing the little backward leg kick on the jumps, which I hate and it's so inefficient, but it worked out for me, just to get me through this workout. Ended up getting three cleans at 185 for a total of 168 reps. Just glad it's done now.

Will be spending most of the week practicing my muscle ups, since I'm sure they'll be in 16.3.

339 scaled. Got to the 155# cleans at 13:30 and was completely gassed. I tried to squat clean the weight once and got stuck at the bottom. After that I cleaned the weight four times just fine but again, could not front squat it.

165 RX. I didn't get out of the first round the first time I tried it as I took longer than needed on the t2b, underestimating how gassed I'd be for those squat cleans. I didn't make it to the 2nd round of squat cleans, but I'm happier with 72 more reps.

There's a girl that I do CF with who does her double unders backwards as that's how she learned to jump rope. Unfortunately the standards state the rope has to come FORWARD so she couldn't do her backwards double unders. If she could have, she would have been into round 3 I'm pretty sure, but since she had to do forward she didn't finish round 1 :-\

2 good tips for the scaled workout:
1. Use a training bar with 15# bumper plates so you can drop the bar if you break your sets up.
2. Use a chinup grip for the jumping ctb edit: I alternated my grips

There are going to be a lot of 0+10 rx scores. The bar muscle ups really thin the herd...

Well, I'll be running 16.3 tonight. I have the strength for the MU but haven't been able to get one unbanded yet. Going to go do some practice in a few hours to see if I can get a few.

The recommendation about a training bar on scaled is sound but for the love of the bumpers don't drop any bar with 10's from overhead *cringe*

Indeed. That's why getting even just a single BMU would be a huge advantage. So, I'm going to go in Sunday and work on it with the coach and try to redo 16.3 if I can get any. Everyone kept saying I was so close and really I've never done even chest 2 bars as high as I did this morning. Strangely, when I used the black band I got to same height which leads me to believe it's all technique at this point.
