not really. It would be an extra 25 seconds or so, because they weren't really sitting on the clock anyway. A single first down give you 3 more opportunities to run the clock down. Running on each play at that point, you essentially have to know you are going 3 and out and relying on Defense. The D has been great for them, but it's still stupid to do something that is guaranteed to fail.

I think it's better to keep the opponent guessing and work for a potential additional minute of clock, rather than settle for the known quantity when you can't run effectively.

Bullcrap, don't start that shit. There's a reason why Denver D is No. 1 in the league. Denver had stupid penalties too and Peyton missed two sure TDs in the second half. That stuff evens out. Denver D won this game because they are better than NE's O.
