The Denver defense should keep them in the game enough so, that Manning can do what he does and put at least a couple in the end zone. The dropped passes by the Denver wideouts really made the offense look worse than they actually were last week. I can think of at least 5 key passes that were dropped. That being said I still think Manning can exploit the Patriots DBs. Plus being in Denver make a big difference. I think the Broncos have enough in them to win this game.
If I were putting money on the game I'd go with Carolina. They seem to find ways to win in questionable games and dominate in the other games this year. But, I think Arians has a few things up his sleeve that he's going to throw at Cam and I think that will rattle him enough that the Cardinals can pull of a win. As long as Palmer doesn't throw one of those stupid passes like he did in the end zone this past weekend. Plus Fitz is going to dominate again in this game. Cardinals win!
I could have sworn the SB was at like 730 last year and this year it is 530. CST, obviously.

It always feels like it starts early out here. You would think it would have like a SNF start time since its such a prime time event.
Actually the ball(s) was deflated last time.
Cause the guys dropping the balls are going to be playing in this game too.Why is everyone writing off Denver? There were a LOT of drive killing, dropped passes that had 100% nothing to do with the QB.

I want PM to win a superbowl and call it a career, after that I just want to see the Pats lose, then don't care about anything else.
Former Pats LB/sometimes WR Mike Vrabel offered the defensive coordinator job for the 49ers. Great player and glad he's getting a chance to move up the coaching ranks now.
Interesting stats I saw today, calculated the 3rd figure myself.
Patriots with Edelman playing: 6.9 yards/play (#1 in the league)
Pats with Edelman hurt: 4.3 yards/play (last in league)
Pats with Edelman (last week): 6.07 yards / play (42 attempts for 302, rush 14/38) = 340 yards / 56 plays = 6.07 yards/play.
Contrast with Broncos last week with PFM: 37 attempts for 222, rush 31/110 = 332 yards / 68 plays = 4.67 yards / play.
Not saying that stat is determinative of the outcome, but if it holds I think the Broncos will need to maintain a good advantage in possession time to win.
The Cheatriots will be playing...shenanigans will be found. Belicheat just can't help himself.
/sore Seattle fan.
Eh, when you look at the size difference between Gronk and your typical secondary defenders, taking out the legs makes the most sense. This has been brought up before, they get called going high, so that leaves.. going low. Due to the rules it's the only way a defender knows they can tackle someone w/out drawing a flag. The Bronco's Chris Harris Jr was asked by ESPN on how to tackle Gronk, "you have to hit him low, hit his knees". link yea, I get Gronk's a beast to tackle but ramming you helmet at his knees is more of "this will remove him from the contest" than "this is how you tackle him". Very disappointing to hear that kind of crap, that's like a NE player saying "hit Peyton around the neck, that will get him off the field". Gronk better play smart and get down quick because if he is engaged with a defender up high the second guy there is going to try and blow out his knee. Disgusting IMO, is it that hard to wrap up his legs?, no, but since the helmet to knee shot is not illegal and it will get Gronk, (and his gimpy knee) out of the game, all the better.
You can't take one weeks dropped passes and think that's going to happen twice in a row, you numbers are totally irrelevant. Brady had a game with 6-7 dropped passes as well and once again it's irrelevant. Both teams have good offensive weapons available so it should be a good game.
That one week was the only game PFM has played since what, early November? I'm not using that as the comp because it's some outlier that supports my hypothesis but rather is the only data point we have that makes sense to include here.

Obviously it means a HIGH risk to injury, but the NFL created the monster, so they have to deal with it. IIRC I think Brady himself said during this season he thought that was the best way to tackle Gronk but didn't agree with it.
Yea, I get that part but it's just a nasty deal when your attempt at a "tackle" is spearing a players knees. It may well be legal but it's dirty as fuck.
Totally agree, but at the same time, you need to take down this behemoth of a man and you are used to tackling WR's... kinda makes it academic on what they need to do to bring him down. Completely sucks either way.
