my point was that the Broncos can't run today--if you can't run all day, then you can't run the clock out trying to run, because you're just handing the ball back. I expected a 3 and out if they went that way, and it's exactly what happened. Broncos up 8 with 5 minutes left: first downs is far, far farm more important than clock.

Running to run the clock out, when you can't even run the ball, is stupid.

I agree that they are primarily relying on their defense at this point, and they should be--but NE D has been stellar as well. Denver has been effective enough when throwing today that they shouldn't abandon the chance ot get another couple of first downs before coughing up the ball. Besides: the clock runs on a first down. Bought as long as it does on a 3 and out series
