Well, I guess this race wasn't too bad for what the track has historically given us.
Losing Verstappen in the first corner was a bit of a tragedy, I was hoping for him to fight with either Bottas or Raikönnen - but that entire fight completely fell apart by Bottas wanting to make up on the apex, what he lost under braking.
Ferrari also messed this one up with the strategy - pitting too early, and costing Vettel around 5 seconds behind Bottas, and then pitting AFTER THE VSC JUST ENDED! Even Mercedes messed that call up - pitting as the VSC was ending surely cost Hamilton the time he needed to make passing Vettel decisive, instead of having to pass on track. Ferrari then started thinking about pitting Vettel a third time, just as the window was closing for another stop. On the other hand, I don't think he would have been able to overtake Hamilton on that track.
Brilliant bit of overtaking from Vettel on Bottas though.
Alonso confused me all race long - qualified up high, then obviously losing positions, but at the end, he got past the Williams again.
Fantasy-F1 wise, I forgot putting in my predictions, but otherwise, except for Massa, Kimi and Bottas, I did reasonably well: Checo got a bunch of points and bonuses, Toro Rosso had a double points finish, Grosjean managed to somewhat recover from a botched quali, and Mercedes and Ferrari were at the front. Still, losing those two cars cost me a bunch of points, to someone who has money on FI.
All in all entertaining, if not as exciting as it could have been on many other tracks, with there really only being a need to be fast on the straight on position yourself well into T1 to defend against almost any overtake.
