**Official 2018-19 "Who's Worse? Whitten or Gruden?" NFL WK 8**

I cannot honestly say that I have paid any attention to the MNF Broadcast, but I will take the word of many locally anyway, who have panned Whitten and McFarlane's crane act especially. I really don't watch it much anymore since I believe the games are traditionally garbage. This week's MFN game will be garbage.

I actually hate the crane crap and I don't really understand the point of it. I really don't. Different camera angles? LOL no, I'm good with that. He's just in the way and adds nothing new or informative to the broadcast.

As far as Whitten is concerned, I don't see who he got such a high profile job with ZERO experience. The love affair with Romo is done on CBS with all his annoying pig squeals during broadcast. I remember, though, that he was calling plays out before they happened because he had just retired so he was plugged in.

My guess is that ESPN was hoping the same thing with Whitten, but as far as I understand, he sucks.

Gruden? I'm not of the opinion that he is a failure. I think Gruden had a plan all along to gut this team. But I don't like how he lied and said "Mack didn't want to be here". He did, but under a bigger contract.

Yes, the Raiders are garbage. But that's OK. He will have a chance to build this team. FWIW, I think he will fail. I never thought he was a good coach. I believe he's good at talking football, but I think he's overrated.

We will see.

Funny that whenever a WR or RB establishes possession and the ball is knocked out, its a fumble. A QB has possession, and depending on his intent and arm movement, its an "incomplete pass".

A dropped or dislodged possessed football is a fumble for any other position.

I'm going to go with Whitten for now, waiting to see what Gruden does after he douses the fire that he started in the Oakland dumpster and restocks it.

...I don't think Whitten is awful, he's just completely lacking in personality and seems very very awkward; but I think he could improve. He has no cadence as a broadcaster, he isn't conversational, and just very wooden or robotic. I think he's one of those 2% of jock dudes that majored in "stealing lunch money from nerds" instead of communications.

Wow, the stuff in the sb nation link is cringe worthy. For some reason, I think Witten isn't really preparing as experienced commentators do, as he may believe his job is merely a natural progression from the football field. I don't know.

But he probably needs to cut his teeth doing college football, or Friday night games to learn how to be an announcer. To be slapped right on prime time is unfair to us and him, especially seeing how they are basically succeeding Tirico who is hands down the best in the business, and Gruden.

I will say this again; former pro athletes do not automatically make good commentators. Calling games is a skill, and many times the best were not good pros at all, or were not pros at all. Romo was lighting in a bottle, and he so happened to be a former Cowboy.

Yes, I now see Witten sucks. But I think he'll remain on the MNF team, even in another capacity next season.

Another ex-Cowboys player I like is Daryl Johnston. He does a good job too. WTF why do the Cowboys have so many ex-players in the booth lol?

Redskins win was YUGE! I think on the broadcast they said after week 8 the Redskins haven't lead the division since 2000, which seems shocking since in 2008 they were 6-2 but I thought I heard em say that. But in 08 they ended up 8-8. They look like shit on offense but AP broke for a long run to put the nail in the coffin. Their defense is pretty legit.

So glad the Ravens lost that will make work more fun tomorrow. This Bucs/Bengals game is pretty nuts too considering Winston was pulled and now they are tied.

I think they will go back to Fitz, Winston threw 4 int's today including a pick-6, sine his return he has 10 int's and 6 TD's, he had his chance and clearly blew it. At least Fitz mounted a comeback and ties the game late.

I do, but he's fairly polarizing, either you like him or hate him, he is somewhat animated up there, but you can tell he has a great understanding of what's happening, I like that.

As great as Cousins has been playin for the Vikings, it's turnovers like that that seem to be his achilles heel. He always has these huge bone headed turnovers in the worst times. He's been having them primarily as fumbles as a Viking, but he had picks and turnovers as a beloved patriot.
