I dunno. Tesla is looking due for a correction at the current price, but then so is that online dvd company and that online shopping bazaar named after a Brazilian river.

Way too much overconfidence out there.
If online dvd company is worth $175 billion and online shopping bazaar named after a Brazilian river is worth $832 billion, money losing electric car company is downright cheap at only $57 billion. I predict the money losing electric car company will be worth $500 billion plus in 10 years.

The only problem I have with Tesla is that Elon Musk reminds me too much of Preston Tucker (not the baseball player).

That disturbance in the force you feel is thousands of millennials crying out in terror about IQ.

I almost sold 7/20 30 puts but they were WAY to high. When I checked they were almost $200 a contract. That was a huge red flag.

Bought more Tesla this morning and will keep adding. Pretty close to Roadster money now.

Any reason you had to have more ... now? Dont you think it cant get cheaper between now and next earnings? Sure if you are buying to keep and forget it does not matter, but I see TSLA going back under $300 this year. (of course, it could go right back up, and if you are not on margin I guess it does not matter how low it goes).

Good luck to you on your investments either way.

I bought TSLA @ 275 and won't buy it any higher, would definitely have to be 300 minimal.

That said, given the market being down today I pumped more into AMD and Chipotle, I only see them going up in the next year.

Why am I buying now? Because I'm taking Elon Musk at his own words. He said on June 17th tweet that shorts have about 3 weeks before their short position explodes. https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status...esla-tsla-shorts-position-explodes-elon-musk/
And Musk recently put his money where his mouth is by buying $10 million in Tesla stock at around $300 /share and another $25 million at around $350 /share.

Back in 2012, Musk warned that anyone holding short Tesla stock would have tsunami of hurt coming for them. The following 12 months, Tesla stock price increased 461%. That's when Tesla reported its first quarterly profit. I look at Tesla and see the crazy high 30% short float and can see history repeating again. Maybe not 461% but lot higher than current price.

As the owner of two teslas I urge caution when it comes to trusting any timeline, timeframe, date or promise that Elon makes. I don't think he is a liar, I just think he has a tenuous grasp of time. 3 weeks could be months or years or who knows.

I'm familiar with Elon time. And I tracked his stock purchases with Tesla and Solar City. He has very good record with timing of his buys.

Hey dasher...you still short those MU calls? Looks like they might go to zero after all, which is good for you.

....assuming you did not cover already.

I still got 'em.

Everything I'm touching is turning to shit. I haven't totaled anything up but I'm pretty sure I've lost everything I made on OLED this year.

If you're shorting a stock just let me know. I'll buy a share and it'll tank.

I think Elon is enriching himself at the eventual cost of shareholders. He may have bought Solar City shares and eventually the company producing a large profit for himself, but it looks like the Solar City was a bad buy for Tesla shareholders.

Tesla buying Solar City was complete bailout of Musk, his cousins, and insiders. Without that bailout, Solar City would've gone under. Solar City was probably only few months away from bankruptcy. But I'm ok with that since that move basically secured Musk at Tesla for the next 10 years. It's similar to how Apple bought NeXT computers from Steve Jobs in order to bring Steve back to Apple. Without Musk, there is no Tesla. All of Musk's companies are intertwined and work together and he has shown time and again he's willing to gamble and risk everything he owns for his ultimate goal: to colonize Mars. What CEO is willing to do whatever it takes and even sleep at the factory floor in order to rally his troops and to fix problems? Steve Jobs was the only other CEO I know who cared about his company the way Musk does. And like Jobs, Musk took on extremely lucrative long term performance based pay package instead of guaranteed yearly compensation. Musk will earn like $56 billion in options in 10 years provided he turns Tesla into $650 billion company. That's crazy high compensation but it will be worth every penny if Tesla is worth $650 billion in 10 years. Musk is all in at Tesla and I like that. If Musk succeed, then all Tesla shareholders win big including Musk. If he fail, then we all lose, even non shareholders.

US markets sets 52 week highs and earnings season hasnt even really started yet.

Gold on a serious down fall from $1300 to $1230s, would love to add in the $1050s.

Oil getting smacked down since China threatens a tariff (they are the biggest foreign buyers of US crude).

Thanks for your concern.

Are you going to sell? I kind of feel like Tesla could use some new leadership (or at least put someone in charge who's capable of getting cars built) but without Musk Hype I don't know if they can get the capital raise that's going to be needed.

lol. Why would I sell? Did Musk resign or something? As long as Musk is running Tesla, I will own the stock.
