So it's Monday morning... What's the word?

Stocks down roughly 0.5% in premarket.

Its looking like a market contagion bringing us down. Oil, Cryptos, bonds and stocks all selling off because of fear.

I am not sweating it as this is no housing bubble and luckily this isn't happening in October. The money pulled out of stocks has to go somewhere as rates on savings accounts are still very low and corporate earnings are still high. I am a buyer after the government shuts down on Feb 8.

Side note: S&P 500 - 50 day moving average is 2715. We are currently at 2740 (down 21 on the day) with 25 more down to go to get there. If it makes it down that far or below, could fall more.

Dow down 275 at I type this.

So what stocks are you guys about to buy on this stock market dip? I've been saving up cash for just this type of an event.

Keep an eye on treasury yields with the auction this week $66B in new debt and $80B of previously issued debt on the block. That 3% magic number is close.

Markets not closed yet!

But we probably do go lower.

Yes, it could whipsaw back and forth like this for days, if not weeks. I personally think it's very healthy to do a cut right now and then proceed up on a normal trajectory. What we've seen lately is just insanity, even with tax cuts and rising business income / profits.

Looks like today is a sell on the bounce instead of a buy on the dip type of day.

What's good to buy with this dip Lol.
EPD is a screaming buy right now under $27.

If you want an obscure cheap stock to consider look at ONCS. The $5 price target is probably fantasyland unless they get bought out. Between $2-$3 is very realistic.

I made a little money off of AMD and it's dropping pretty hard. I may try to double dip.

Futures have DOW down about 200 right now. This thing might test 25,000. Depends on how it goes from there. Also approaching the 50 day and 200 day moving averages.

Dow bounced at 25,026.58.

Also, S&P500 50 day moving average is 2,715. Bounced at 2,716.73 .

By the way, do you guys think that this is completely automated buying at those levels (Dow 25,000 and 50 day moving average on the S&P 500)? Who sits around and buys on those points without some sort of computerized trading?

Edit: 2:30 - down 550 - Crashed through the Dow 25,000 point - at 24,960 and falling hard.....

Those two points are roughly 5% off their highs. If you thought the stock market was due for a mild correction, but wanted to buy stocks, I can see placing limit orders at 5% off the highs. Thus, yes, it would be automated -- albeit with someone guiding the decision that 5% off was where to get back in.

However, it doesn't appear like there were many people with that thought as it broke through the Dow support.

Down more than 1,500. WTF!!!

23,923.88.

That's more than 10% off of the highs.

Just got the yahoo finance notification. Damn. I wish I had the money to buy!
Don't catch a falling knife. It is far better to buy at 24,000 going up, than 24,000 going down. Because at least then you know that there is somewhat of a floor underneath you. You'll likely have time to get some money to buy.
