I don't own MoviePass but just a subscriber since Dec. This last week has been quite interesting to say the least.

Their stock was the a Grand Short Play and I missed it.

I want to be a Movie Pass customer but their business model doesn't work, and I dont want to subscribe to something that might be gone in 60 days.

I made a big bet on WDC today. It might fall a little further but long term I'm sure it's going back up.

Well heck, long term most stocks always go back up.

Anyway, TWITTER is circling the bowl. Down another 7.50% today. I made a quick buck daytrading puts. Analysts say their P/E is way too high for a company that will see higher costs in the near future (even higher P/E) for a company that is not growing like it used to.

Probably breaks $30, down $13 in two trading sessions.

I just don't get shorting or where to find shares to short. Who would offer up their shares to short?

It's not worth joining MoviePass at this point given all their restrictions & financial woes. However, AMC did come out with the A-List plan that seems to be a good deal and doesn't restrict premiere screenings (ie IMAX, 3D, etc). It has a 3 movies per week restriction. Not as good as MP but I trust AMC to remain sustainable and their price right now is factoring in MP current existence.

I want to buy a Movie Pass but my perception of all movie theaters is already tainted. The last thing I can ever perceive myself doing is going to a movie theater... multiple times... in the same month... let alone the same week.

Apple earnings fair pretty well. The after-hours crowd seems to like what they see.

3.50% after hours for Ap, should be good for a little bounce in the market. Even that wretched TWTR did not go under $30 (yet) but in fact went up today.

I think people are a tad more cautious about overbidding the market right now.

MoviePass parent's market cap is now down to 326k. Bet they do another reverse split to get back up over a dollar/share.

In last ditch move, MP is starting to rein in movie goers options to control costs. No more opening weekends unless there is a sponsored promotion.

edit: Also, when the market value falls to $9.99 I think I will buy the company outright and sell it to Amazon or Apple for $20, doubling my money.

Its not just rates. People's expectations of their homes market value when put up for sale have become unrealistic and are putting the brakes on growth.

In other words - your home did not double or triple in value since 2010. I think housing is due for a major correction.

You know, I was thinking about this... there's a condo unit nearby which has been on the market for 2 months now. Definitely overpriced. I looked into a bit further and there's plenty of housing out there which have been on the market for some time; I don't know if this number is increasing however.

The Fed does seem like they are tempting fate with these hikes.

As long as people continue to pay for it - the prices aren't going anywhere.

Americans are fucking dumb in that their thought process doesn't consist of "Is this home a good value?" or "Can I pay this off?". The only thing they think about is "What is the monthly payment?" and "Can I pay that monthly payment?"

So the concept of APR rates, The home being overvalued, etc.. doesn't matter to them.

The mortgage interest rate directly affects the monthly payment. It's almost like a second tax. I could see ARMs getting popular again if rates continue to climb.

I have a 5/5 ARM with Pentagon federal CU.

They aren't all that bad at all if used correctly.

But yeah, the loan apr affects the monthly payment, property taxes (home value) affects monthly payment, and home insurance affect monthly payments. Americans still don't care as long as when they sign that loan and it gives an estimated monthly payment that they feel they can afford it with their current salary. L

No! Musk twitted about possibly taking Tesla private at $420/shr. He already has funding to do it. If you follow Musk on Twitter, you know he’s dead serious. I just bought more at $362 but it’s going to suck if he does. I’m expecting Tesla to be $3,0000 /shr stock in less than 10 years.

So if he turns around and now sells some shares at this artificially inflated price, does he get hosed for market manipulation or does he get a free pass?

Its definitely market manipulation to create a short squeeze, which it did, but I bet he gets a pass. He specifically states "Am considering taking Tesla private at $420."
This means he might claim its an opinion or thought and not a release of insider info.

Artificially inflated? Hell, if anything Tesla stock is artificially deflated and held down by all the dirty lies and FUD spread by short sellers and hacks who haven't got a clue. The stock is halted now though. All I can say is short sellers are now fucked. Fuck Chanos, Einhorn, and the rest of the assholes who funded the short smearing campaign against Tesla. It sucks my potential gains will likely be temporary capped at $420 when I'm certain Tesla could've easily hit $3,000 in couple of years. But I just read more tweets by Musk saying shareholders could elect to keep the shares and not sell at $420. Basically my shares would be converted private. If that's the option, I will do that.

You think he's trying to create short squeeze? If anything, the man is being super generous to short sellers and allowing them to live. $420 is nothing. Tesla is far more valuable than that. Which is why I won't sell at $420 if Musk really does take Tesla private. I'm willing to hold Tesla private shares. Tesla is just getting started.

My bet is Tesla is going private. Elon wouldn't have tweeted if otherwise. It's done deal.

I just read this tweet from him. It's official. Tesla is going private. Elon already made up his mind. Holy shit.

"Def no forced sales. Hope all shareholders remain. Will be way smoother & less disruptive as a private company. Ends negative propaganda from shorts."

https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1026907699760390146

I don't blame him as the short propaganda was really wearing him down but I can't help being disappointed Musk is taking his ball and going home. Life will definitely be easier as private company but Wall Street just lost a gem. And Wall St. only have themselves to blame.

Tesla halt removed and stock is back trading. I purchased more at $372. I tried to get more with limit at $375 but stock is ramping up higher so I missed it.
