Apple is in big conglomerate mode that they can't innovate with. Unless they have some kind of major corporate restructure to trim the fat I honestly think the stock will be going downhill over the next 5 years.

TSLA's market cap stands at a measly $36B, who in the world would pay 5x what its worth ($200B) with all that is going wrong?

Heck, Apple could buy Ford for $40B and they have an actual Price to EARNINGS ratio ... of 14.

But if you want a real bargain, pony up for General Motors. It has a market cap of $52B and P/E ratio of 5.84!!

Buy side market participants are trying desperately to prop up the stock today - including a "leaked" memo about rising sales and talking about buyout possibilities.

I think if the stock is on a slide, let it slide. Manipulation is only good for a short term boost, if anything.

China is no longer king of cheap labor. The products that they make (for the vast majority) are something we can get from other countries. They are much more attached to us than we are to them.

In a world of Buyers and Sellers, right now we (as the buyers) are much more in the drivers seat. Where are they going to find places that want to buy their vast array of cheap shit? Buyers market is limited.

China is a great production hub. They have the expertise and manpower to get the job done. However, over the past few decades the Chinese government and military have decided to leverage this to spy on other nations and place backdoors on high tech items.

To make matters worse, with little to no protections for IP in China, they steal and copy and undercut rivals worldwide. For certain companies, doing business there is a very risky proposition.

Yeah, I can't sit here and act like I agree that this is the best way to go about it.

But SOMEONE needed to start twisting some fucking arms instead of bending over.

The fact of the matter is that in order to make them comply - they need to hurt ANY company's bottom line that moved their production there as well as the actual Chinese companies just trying to sell their goods.... And it is working - plenty are already taking actions to get their outsourced labor out of there and into other nearby places (Taiwan, India, etc.)

I don't know what else could have been done? Wagging the finger at them wasn't working, be it at World trade meetings or otherwise.

Honestly what I wish would happen politically is for everyone to stop making social issues the #1 spoken about topic. All I care about are financials/fiscal responsibility, which directly relate to the betterment of everyone.
