So what is ATOT buying these days that you feel will have substantial growth in the coming year or so?

Chipotle (CMG) and AMD were my best buys by far, but sadly I don't think either are going to grow substantially in the next few months.

I love longshots -

FNMA (currently $3 a share), may go to $20+ if the government gives up receivership, which is what the current scuttlebutt is.

NBEV (currently $6.50 a share). The company is set to release flavored drinks enhanced with cannabaniods sometime thsi year. Beverage companies are always risky, especially upstarts like this one. Maybe $25+ assuming they can hit on all cylinders? Cannabinoids arent even legal in all 50 states! (only 30 as of today)

Could the U.S. extradition of the Huawei CFO lady from Canada to America upset U.S. / China relations enough to tank the stock market? She's like the Chinese princess of technology business as you've probably read about.

I better get those CDs to prepare because more bonds may not even help if stocks sink too much over this. But the interest on CDs will be so low after a deep recession that we'll have to eat into principal to live. Ok that's a bit of an overreaction. Actually I think it's possible the U.S. may simply give her back to China in a sort of prisoner exchange for one or two U.S. citizens being held on finance charges over there.

I've been holding FMCC (sister stock to FNMA) for awhile now. I had already sold some a few years back and now just holding half of my original position.

China doesn't have much options other than to continue at the bargaining table with the US. Given their current slump, I just don't see the Chinese being stupid enough to walk away.

I'm also going to guess that the US has some SERIOUS evidence to back-up their claims to be holding her like this.

China is appealing tariffs to the World Trade Organization. We will see where that goes. But China is unfairly profiting off the backs of low skill, unemployed factory workers in America.

Apple stock rallies after suggesting there is life after the iPhone. Hints at becoming Netflix but gives few details. Wants to be a service business as much as possible.

Hmm......

Gold and Silver rally on hopes the Federal Reserve rate tiger has now been cowed into being just a kitten that wont be tempted to kill the golden goose.

Gotta pump that bubble until it bursts! But until then, yeah I think the market is going up now if the Fed is saying they won't raise rates much.

I guess QQQ at $145 on 1224/18 was a buy point. We are now back to $170. The robots ( algorithms ) always buy.

Always.

Humans tend to be more careful, like myself.

Many companies have warned or lowered expectations, yet the market goes up anyway. That is nonsensical. If you want to invest like a nonsensical algorithm, then you never sell.

To me, the market should only rise if earnings and growth are expected to rise.

Sadly, I am not an algorithm and distrust the current market.

CMG still killing it with their latest earnings today

Chipotle (CMG) reported better than expected fourth-quarter earnings after the bell on Wednesday. Same-store sales, which is the key metric to watch, were up 6.1%. Analysts were expecting 4.49% growth, according to analysts polled by Refinitiv. Shares were up over 5% on the news.

The Mexican fast casual chain reported EPS of $1.72 compared to $1.37 EPS. Revenue also came in higher than expected at $1.23 billion (compared to $1.19 billion).

I'm up 40% from my original buy.

Unfortunately, all CMG needs is one tainted batch of lettuce to drop that price right back down.

It was actually in the lemon wedges, I believe (why you shouldn't be finding fresh-cut lemons in their drink/hot sauce bar anymore).

And I will fucking celebrate the moment that happens because I'll be sure to double or triple my buy-in.

Stock shoots down $100-200 (depending on how bad it is). America forgets in 1-2 months and it's right back where it was. America has an attention span that is measured in nano-seconds.

Whys that? China talks failing? Budget talks not going well and might result in another shutdown?

One, some or all of the above. Or none of the above. We may still continue to rise despite those issues because the algorithms only seem to buy since 12/24/18. They need a catalyst to trigger selling. I suspect that will be unsuccessful trade talks or the impact of tariffs on business income and the economy.

Bought Activision Blizzard (ATVI) yesterday when it was at its lowest ~$40.15... Just seems highly underaalues. This is a stock that has literally gone down about 50%. I think the market has overreacted a bit.

I've never traded video game stocks. Was is it just the discount that attracted you? Do you have an exit point?

I bought over a year ago at $60, saw it hit $84, and now riding with it at $43. Their earnings yesterday were horrible but they're up almost 5% today lol.

Yeah mostly the low price and having a history of loving Blizzard games... so I'm obviously bias there.

No real exit point defined. To be honest, I honestly don't know what my exit point will be for anything.

I'm honestly struggling with that right now when it comes to my AMD and CMG stocks. Both are up substantially but I always feel like there can be more.... which is irrational and stupid of me to think.

They met their earnings estimate no? Couldn't be too horrible if you met your earnings.

Either way, I think that Blizzard will learn their lessons after all the recent backlash. I have confidence they can make another great revenue game like World of Warcraft and get their stock price back up.
