I got my statements this week. Had the courage to open them this time.

God, I have this urge to push in a bunch more money on SRNE. Every bone in my body tells me it's going to push higher.

Can you stop me Felix? Do that logic thing that you do.

Earnings are estimated to be released 5/14. Maybe you should wait until then or after. Otherwise my spidey sense has no idea what happens.

My fiancee has a really large chunk of RSUs and ESPP stock able to be sold over the next two weeks. Stock is less than 10% off it’s all time high and there are a bunch of lots with solid 30-100% long term gains. I have no idea what to advise her to do and she doesn’t like dealing with it. The stock was half its current value about a month ago ..

On balance women tend to be more cautious than men. The government is manipulating markets upward so until they start to let it fly on its own, probably best to hold. Or you could take a balanced approach and sell half.

Does she get an ESPP discount benefit? 5% ? 15% ? Also, does she get a price benefit? In my case as far as the purchase price in a 3 month period if the stock price was lower at the start of the 3 months or the end of the 3 months is the purchase price it applies.

I have ESPP that I'm debating too - ultimately I think I'm just going to hang on to it for now.

I kind of laugh at most price targets because they're often ridiculous. SRNE doesn't seem like its making $24 a share anytime soon.

But I looked back and it actually hit $75 a share twice years ago. I wonder what they were into that prompted that valuation? Maybe if they can manage to squeeze into the coronavirus therapy chain they could bump up a little at least.

Yeah it’s that exact deal .. 15% off the lower of the open or close price. She has by far more in RSUs but there’s one $10k-ish long term ESPP lot that at least seems worth selling since that’s just a bonus. There’s also a few short term loss lots from when it was 8-10% higher that seem worth selling first

A pretty solid chunk of our cash is in that one stock so by that metric, seems worth it to spread it out a bit into cash and other companies. On the other hand they keep consistently hitting 30+% YoY growth, even during Q1 of this year and afaik are not losing business so far.

Look at this ..graph... everytime it makes me laugh....Sorrento was $24...if I could get that price.... my jaw would hit the floor..

lol no, $24 isn't possible. If it was the stock would be up at least $7-$8 by now.

I'm hoping for a pop up to maybe $5.

NVAX, I used to date you when you were this bashful little thing sitting in the corner under $2.

Now you're a supermodel. I think there was a significant reverse split in there somewhere, but still.

I'm a big fan of diversity. Usually the warning is don't hold much stock of the company you work for since if thing go bad for them you can lose your income and investments. You don't need to sell all of it but I would say you don't want it to be more than 10-20% of your portfolio. Does teh ESPP get taxed as income when you sell or was it already taxed going in? According to the answer you might also want to look at the tax implications.

Yeah it would be nice to have NVAX right now instead of SRNE.

Buy if you can't laugh at yourself a little from time to time you shouldn't be in the market anyway. If we had all held every winner we've ever owned we'd be very rich right now.

And I'll take a $6000 profit (as of now) off of a tip I got from a guy on a tech message board.

Maybe that GrubHub buy a month or so ago may payout if they end up merging with Uber Eats... Got in at 37, so it was a bit touch and go for a while there.

Nice call. Got any other ideas?
I wish. Duck and cover through Q2 earnings?

Honestly, that was more of a play that delivery food services would increase as people couldn't go out to eat anymore. It was doing ok before news of the deal, but nothing special.

I still stand by ACAD on the hopes of a deal, but that may take longer. And at it's current price, not sure it's worth getting into.

Stocks are most expensive/overvalued since mid 1980's -

Who are putting more money into the stock market? Not me. I am still going ahead with my monthly purchase of growth index fund from Vanguard as I have been for years but no big purchase of stocks for me. Not at the present value.

Many airline stocks hitting new fresh 52 weeks low today. Delta, American, and Southwest.

Still not tempted to buy the airlines.

Thats a good idea and the right way to invest.

I always pick the wrong way, buying individual stocks, and am nibbling here and there. The S&P may be up, but loads of stocks are still 50-70% down, near or at 2009 lows.

I believe open air malls will be the first to return and they have been beaten down some of the worst, so I added KIM/KRG. I think containerboard (cardboard) makers will be fine as everyone is ordering online and these stocks are down ~60%. Added UFS /WRK.

Open air malls? Really? Of all things I think this pandemic has taught a whole new batch of people that they don't need to shop in store in order to find what they need...You can just buy it online.

Malls have been going downhill for a long... long...time... I think this recession will be the nail in the coffin for them.
