I've read the crashes of GME, AMC, and NOK right now are due to RobinHood not allowing anyone to buy stocks or options on those tickers - only sell. That's kind of insane market manipulation, but there's the strike back. WSB is obviously pissed off and its war over there. I'm going to hold my position of NOK and its kind of close to pre-spike price at this point anyway. It was anyway and it'll be very interesting to see where all of this goes. A hedge fund is gone and a lot of WSB users have or may lose a lot of money due to RH.

This is an addiction. Once you experience the highs and lows, you can't walk away easily. Wall St is a casino but with better odds because you can invest too and be the house if you want through options. Sure the game is crooked and stacked against small retail but we've shown we're learning their game. Bunch of these new retail will stick around. There's so much to the market than just plain stock trading. It's why I keep saying you have to learn options and derivatives if you want to fully compete with them.
I'm rolling the dice with money I've earned in the markets....hurts to lose, but there's an upside when a stock has buzz (not just GME). Right now, you're going to see a lot of people working the list of stocks that are under attack and I would expect even more people doubling down as more money becomes available to them.

Ouch. This reminds me of the 10k loss I took on NYMT last year. It hurts but you have to dust yourself off and get back up again.

Good luck man.
Was up $12k on BB at one point yesterday so was fun while it lasted. If the SEC gives a green light or mostly green light to the brokerages for GME and the other hot stocks then I would've messed up royally and should've stayed in.

Yeah, it's complete BS but we knew they would do this. I'm not worried about my NOK position. It won't move the needle for me one way or the another. My position in NOK is tiny compared to my overall portfolio. I picked it because I knew I was late to the party and NOK hadn't moved much in the big picture. What's NOK going to do? Go back to $4 and be stuck there where it has been forever? I'm ok with that. I thought that was my downside. I saw upside at $10+ if this craziness continued. To me, risk/reward was worth the shot. I'll put on this trade every time.

Aren't you glad brokers are looking out for "the little guy"?

All brokers require arbitration agreements so they are probably protected here. Who knows what will happen however.

Damn, how much is an Elon tweet actually worth? Like tens of millions?

damn it! And I was talking about picking up a chunk of shares about a month ago on that dip because the game is actually really quite awesome, waiting for the fixing and inevitable rebound in the long term, lol. (or, of course, being bought out by Activision, or similar)

Glad I sold a bit of my GME this morning and covered my initial investment and a bit of profit.

Though now I'm kind of wishing I took that money and bought back in near the low

All this shows you the power of the internet, social media, and the retail. I recently took position in TWTR couple weeks ago when it dipped because the whole Trump Capital protest mess. I think Twitter is undervalued compared to its influence and utility. Look at the market cap of Twitter and compare it to Facebook, Snap, and recent IPO tech names. I don't have my full desired position in TWTR but I plan to keep adding on any major dip.
Yes, influence can be important symbolically. But making money from it is not easy, and that's what Twitter has to figure out.

I remember when NHL fans voted John Scott into the All-Star game and succeeded. They tried to bury him in the minors, and the Coyotes and Canadiens were in on the ploy. Ultimately, he was allowed to play in it with a generic uniform and won MVP.

lol. I just received this email from Interactive Brokers. They want me to lend out my shares to the shorts. They're saying I could potentially make up to extra $3,600 a year lending out my shares to the shorts. I knew I could do this but never did it because I fucking hate the shorts and what they pulled on TSLA. And IB never bothered me about doing this before. But this crazy short killing squeeze environment probably had them looking at ways they can make money and help the shorts.

Maybe it's time to go all-in on Nokia and party like it's 2006. I feel like Nokia has been waiting for this very moment to release the N-Gage 2.

These are the short squeeze attempts that I am currently aware of.

- AAL
- NOK
- GME
- AMC
- ERIC

Isn’t NOK short float only 1%?

Robinhood is able to charge zero commissions because Robinhood sells order flow to.... you guessed it, hedge funds and big banks, the same ones who are likely getting crushed by the epic short. It makes sense Robinhood wants to keep that relationship, so they are selling out their patrons to benefit their benefactors. Remember you either pay for the service or you are the service.

I'm surprised people stuck with the 'hood when it couldn't handle the load of the corona dip.

I promptly bailed because they were out of service during that dip.

Doesn't matter. I have no idea what the short float on NOK is. And I don't care. I could look it up very easily but that's not the reason I entered the trade. The float of NOK is too big to be moved by retail. So it has to be institutional fucks who buy to move it. Retail can start the momentum but only Institutional have enough money required to make stock like NOK go crazy. So it's bet on the stupidity of the big money. Despite what lies mainstream media tells you about big money, big money is not smart money. Most big money are lemmings and retarded like us. They're followers and they follow and copy each other moves. 100% they do this. These fucks are seeing WSB control the market and they want in on the action. So these stupid whales will try to piggyback off WSB and their plays. That's what I'm betting on with my NOK play. I know I'm late to the party. But the rich fucks are late too. So if the rich fucks start buying NOK, you don't need shorts to make the stock go up. Just normal buying pressure will cause the stock to go up. How many of the big funds you think was holding NOK before all this? Not many I bet. Nokia has been irrelevant for years. But if all this mania gets rich fucks to take a look at NOK and they say, "Hey, NOK isn't too bad. They have decent business and future potential with 5G or 6G rollout. Maybe we should buy some and take position and see." That's what you want and some of that will happen. Whether or not that will cause NOK to go up big, who knows? Market is crazy. But you combine the power of retail and institutional fucks? Sky is the limit.

Just heard about that on NPR the other day, I think it was a radiolab episode. Great story.

Sold all my BB a few minutes ago, lost $8k but all my bills are still being paid, it's not a problem. Sorry to let down anyone who is in BB and for letting down the people in the redd.. I should run for office.

edit - BB is making a bit of a rebound since going down to $14+, god if I made a mistake in selling a few hours too soon. It's a matter of pride not any financial hardship for me.
I'm assuming @IHateMyJob2004 held blackberry since he didn't sell last decade.
(He rode it all the way, I think)

I'm still in BB and plan to camp out a few months or longer. I'm hoping it will help fund something crazy like a sailboat or airplane. If the price dips, my wife is helping to pay off our mortgage faster....I'll keep buying it up. EV markets are going to see huge gains thanks to Biden.

I'm all out of stupid tokens (day trades), so I really need my single share of AMC to hold strong.

I'm up like $2 today, but if it crashes before tomorrow I'm going to have to take a long arduous ride with Hollywood.

My Palantir is up $600. Should I take it as a day trade and try again tomorrow?

- now up to +$700

I am now the proud owner of TWO shares of AMC. Got my second share at 8.50.

Ride or die bitchz.

EDIT: It spiked to 20 for like one minute! Now back to 10.
