Sold all my BB a few minutes ago, lost $8k but all my bills are still being paid, it's not a problem. Sorry to let down anyone who is in BB and for letting down the people in the redd.. I should run for office.

edit - BB is making a bit of a rebound since going down to $14+, god if I made a mistake in selling a few hours too soon. It's a matter of pride not any financial hardship for me.

It happens, I lost over $10K on ETHE on a bad trade in a single day earlier this year. I was going into too greedy after coming with bigger gains on GBTC. And of course ETHE rebounded and I could have come out of that with $5K profit or more if I didn't set a stupid stop loss on that trade. But my overall portfolio has performed very well since September so that was just a rough bump in the road for me.

It's ironic how losing those paper gains feels a lot worse in comparison to the amount of joy you feel with equivalent gains. Made $10k? Cool. Lost $10K? How stupid can I be to lose a downpayment on a new car just like that!

I just came back from a nice hike: Aside from holding NOK, I'm done with the WSB madness and going back to what I'm good at: crypto, weed stocks, and the few speculative other plays. This whole thing messed up my allocations a little bit, so I might just nuke my whole portfolio and start with a clean slate. Most of my plays are short-term, so I'd just be resetting my cost basis on a lot of things.

Looks like GME and its altcoins received a boost in after hours trading.

My two shares of AMC are doing me proud, and now I'm up by multiple whole dollars.

I think I may have bought an AMC share. I was positive I could only buy in groups of 100 with Virtual Brokers since that's what my coworker on the same platform who is more into this than I am told me , and when you select it goes by 100. But I typed 1 manually in the box and sent in the order and it went through. But it can take a few days to actually finish processing orders and it was near end of day so it may not have gone through. I'll know for sure in a few days. Even the stocks I bought a few days ago are showing pending, but it did use up the cash so I think that means it went through.

If I truly can buy any amount this is a game changer for me, it means I will be able to buy even some of the bigger stocks. I did not realize I was limiting myself I just assumed it was a limitation of the platform.

Yeah you definitely want to look into a broker that allows odd lot stock purchases. Purchasing expensive stocks become much more affordable this way.

You don't even need to buy a whole share. You can buy/own "fractional" shares.

I'm not out of the running yet on BB. I sold it all today for the $8k loss I mentioned before. My sell cash clears on Monday and if the stock falls to just one point below where it is now then I can buy back a little over the same number of shares I bought on Tuesday.

Then hold it for longer and not wimp out again with a badly timed sell. And we'll wait and see what buying restrictions on GME, BB and other stocks the brokers implement tomorrow, over the weekend and on Monday.

It's up to $17.22 at the moment. I'm sure it's going to find support above $16 where it kept returning to today.

I'd prefer it dips to $15 so I can buy back all the shares I sold without losing any more $. But it may turn out I'll have to buy them at $17 or $18, which won't put me in any financial bind. And hope for another up trend.

Yeah my single stocks Google (Alphabet,) Apple and AMD increases in stock value in the last year are way over the $8k I lost in selling BB today. And the cash from selling some of AMD a few months ago is more than today's loss.

edit -Then the mutual funds I have - Franklin growth, Dodge and Cox international, and Vanguard Reit & bond funds. Boring funds but they give dividend income. Those have now been passed on to me when I inherited them from my dad, which I meant to mention eventually.

I don't know what's going to happen, the trade volume was way up yesterday you would have been today had Robin Hood not killed the ability to buy. (Where the surge came from)

There's buzz building because bunch of people jumped on board.

AOC currently disappeared for 50 minutes on that "featured" livestream with Chamath and is "Offline".

She must have realized being unscripted with the potential for the unexpected was too great.

Conspicuous weasel.

Just came back

It's mostly Alexis Goldstein describing all the details so far with AOC essentially being a moderator, but it is interesting.

Robinhood wasn't optimizing its executions prior to this incident.

I dont normally give advice (just opinions) since I really dont know any more than you do, but if you decide to get back into BB (or any stock for that matter you want to hold), you can try easing in slowly. This means buying some here, buying some there over a few days. Its a strategy some use to not wind up "buying the top" and seeing a 40% pullback the next day.

If I buy shares to hold overnight, I also buy puts sometimes to protect part of the position from an unforeseen calamity that might be revealed in the future about the company or the if the market sees a huge drop and takes your stock with it. That has saved me sometimes. Since BB is particularly volatile right now those puts are going to be very expensive.

Today was the first day in quite sometime I did no trading. There is too much going on with the war between WSB and the usual market participants and I did not want to wind up stuck in the drama.

I was also very busy at my day job and my mobile app kept locking up with all the trading volume and people watching the drama unfold live. Usually these things add up to losses for me, so I thought it best to peek at my watch lists but do NOTHING.

Being that weekly options expire tomorrow and trading platforms (including mine) are restricting the kinds of trades that can be placed I may continue to wait for all this drama to die down before I consider anything.

There is truly a rebellion going on right now - regular people vs regulators, hedge funds, brokers, etc.

But there are too many bullets in air right now for my taste so Im erring on the side of caution.

I've discovered a little "loophole" in options trading. It's pretty exciting to me. We'll see if its just these economic conditions or whether it can last.
