Chamath on Tesla. "Don't sell a single share. Tesla will double and triple again from here." Again, I agree with everything he said. Chamath always been one of the few rich guys that got and understood Tesla. Super smart cookie and extremely articulate. And that's why he went from growing up dirt poor to billionaire.

You want the cheat code to becoming rich? If there is big TSLA price drop in the future and there will be several, BUY IT. And don't sell. HOLD and keep buying anytime there's a big dip in TSLA. Elon Musk has never sold single share of TSLA. He has only bought more. It's why he's the richest person in the world. It's also why he will be the world's first trillionaire. Elon is in for the long haul. He's on your side unlike most of the clueless and paycheck collecting CEOs who's only in it to cash out quickly and rob the shareholders.

I had 4000 shares of BILI at under $15 a share (not that long ago). I wish I could program my Mac to never display the word BILI again.

Before or after the split? It went up 100% in early 2020 and then lost 1/2 it's value shortly after the lock downs and then went up to $2k. A friend's boss actually was able to retire in his mid 40's because of TSLA. Was able to cash out and have around $10million after taxes. I don't think he will stop working completely, but allows him to as he wants.

If there's one positive, it's that the US probally won't go negative. At least as long as the US is the reserve currency.

So I went pretty far out and sold a NVDA $250 put for next January for $500.

Its basically free money. The only problem is that it potentially ties up $25000 worth of options trading power for a year.

My bet is that NVDA keeps rising this year and I can buy it back for pennies well before next Jan.

I did not realize how much money Elon made in 2020.

Beginning of 2020..he has about $38 billions USD, not even the top 10 richest people.

Ending of 2020/early 2021: he has about 188 billions USD, richest person.

About 150 billions USD extra after 12 months. <looking at my net worth for the last 12 months.....not bad but not even $1 million ...yet>

Well his potential worth went up that much. Don't believe he can sell $150 billion and actually get that much out of it, though I'm sure the investment community would do it for a reasonable discount.

Was waiting till some of the election chaos died down, wanted to put a chunk of the nest egg in a nice fund with a history of steady returns and a low rate.

I created a Vanguard account and am looking at the Vanguard ETF and Index funds, but am open to any suggestions or directions of inquiry.

I like the S&P 500 Index fund. It's a steady performer with low fees. You'll probably get better returns from a technology sector fund, though, like SFPTX.

I replied late to your post about SOLO in the 2020 thread. In short I missed its big rise, I got in late and made about 12k which is way less than what I could've made if I got in when it was just under $3. And for any other stocks the only one I can suggest is Terrascend Corp, TRSSF, a cannabis company but it's OTC. I also missed their big gain in 2020.
