Oil companies are this generations tobacco companies. They will likely never disappear....just fade away and pay dividends until the year 2187.

I sold calls on all of my pipeline stock for jan 23. I'm curious how that move is going to turn out. I got a lot of money for them.

Technically I still stand to get 5 dividend payouts before then but the option holder could always decide to exercise early.

Markets seem to be moving equal percentages each day now. Down 2%, Up 2%, Down 2%, Up 2%.

Make up your mind!

I'm still fighting seasickness. Luckily things are good right now.

Since my post pandemic high back in July I've gone from down 11% to down 2% to down 13% to down 3% to down 9 % etc.

Since most (if not all) of the options I sell are on value stocks they all move together. But that's where the money is.

edit - I meant growth stocks, not value stocks. derp

Oil is pushing $80. $4 gas could be coming soon.

Uggghhh......Gas is $2.85 in DFW. I remember the bad old days when we hit a high of $4.25 a gallon in 2008 and eventually $3.50 was the average for several years. It finally went under $3 in 2015 and bottomed out to $1.49 in 2020.

And now we may have $100 oil again, or even higher assuming the worst case scenarios I heard. Supposedly power companies are using so much coal and natural gas that they may turn to oil almost exclusivly, which some have predicted might bring $200 oil!! (I doubt this is true however).

I traded in my paid off 2019 car for a 2022 suv. Because of very short supply they are asking for more than msrp on most cars. We spent hours on the deal because it was crowded of people trying to buy. I had to pay about 10% over, but I got a lot in return.

While waiting, the salesman and I had a chance to talk about many things including stocks. He told me about a company he used to work for called Blue Apron. I had heard of the company but did not know the company was publically traded - APRN.

When I looked at the company, I noticed that sales were in decline and they were losing money. They were also diluting shareholders to pay for those losses. This was a bad stock.

HOWEVER, they have been implementing changes including changes to the ownership structure, etc. As a result, the stock has bottomed and is turning around A few days ago, you could have bought shares for $6. They will now cost you $8, a 33% gain in a week.

And while APRN sales are in decline, the projected annual sales are roughly $400M, and the company is currently valued at $194M or about .50x revenue.

Either this stock is a bargain, or momentum traders are buying shares. Assuming the company trades at just 1x sales, this may be a $15 stock (a double?).

I have a token amount at this time.

APRN getting taken to the woodshed today, down 13% to $6.92.

Bought some VYGR, 9000 @ $4.66. Another biotech play.

Edit: Took all profits at $5.59, might get back in next week for another trade

I actually have puts expiring today. First time in a while.

10 RLX contracts at 7.5 and 8 FBIO contracts at 5. I'll be down a bit for now but only a couple grand. I had 10 FBIO puts but some nervous nelly exercised two of them yesterday. Calm down, bitch.

I'm hanging on to both for now. I think they're both long term solid. If I can find good calls I'll sell them.

Isn't this basically the plot of "No Time to Die"?

Fed rate increase odds have gone up quite a bit. They are wrong but I am wondering about at least a taper.

No the bad guy is trying to kill all people with the nanomachines.

Isn't that Lex Luthor?

Fed rate increase odds have gone up quite a bit. They are wrong but I am wondering about at least a taper.

Considering we are trying to get back up from zero rates, its about damn time. Even Morgan Stanley is calling for rate hikes:

Since 2008, the Fed is very sluggish to "normalize" rate policy. Back in the day however, they would drop .5% overnight hike and shock the sh*t out of the market and not give a damn what people said. They even did a full 1% hike sometimes.

Those were the Glory Days of the Federal Reserve.

They had a negligible balance sheet, not trillions of dollars of paper that was purchased to manipulate free markets under the misunderstood notion of job creation. Buying bonds does not create jobs! I would argue it only encourages reckless government and business borrowing. These entities should FEAR higher rates.

Now the Fed fears Congress, the press and Wall Street. They were supposed to be the cops patrolling the beat, popping bubbles. Not anymore.

And since they are so slow to change course, by the time they do start to implement change its usually too late and they have to ease again.

Im going to post this here for your enjoyment. Please, do not laugh. I shed a tear.

This morning I was watching shares of DWAC. It was up 20% premarket on the start of a social media site for the former president. While a 20% move is not "that" great, I have gotten burned way too many times on SPACs, especially when the deals are first announced.

I bought 1,000 shares premarket at the 20% premium price of $12.23 and then had second thoughts and sold them quickly at $12.30, it then quickly fell to $11.90. I patted myself on the back and thought I was lucky.

When the stock opened it was roughly $13, up 30%. I was watching it waiting for a pullback. It was VERY wild jumping all over the place, up and down with wide swings. I thought the best it would be was up 50% on the day, maybe $15. I did not buy back in.

When the damn thing broke through $20, I could not help it and bought 1,000 shares for a quick flip. I set a modest ask of only 50 cents ($500) and the shares were quickly taken from me. Now the stock was up 100%!!

But then it hit $25, $35 and finally closed at $45, up nearly 400%.

I was busy all day at work and every time I checked up on it, I was shocked at the newer high price. Normally the worthless market makers will park at stock and keep it there all day long, but they lost total control of the price despite several halts.

Just for fun, I bought 10 shares after hours at $45, and sold them a few minutes later for $47.

The damn thing hit $70 dollars after hours, up nearly 600%!!!

In all my years of trading, I dont think I've ever seen a stock up 600% (on a non otc stock) in one day.

Right now DWAC does not have a functioning business, yet its trading SPAC is worth $2 billion as of this evening.

Being that this site will be likely be very inflammatory I wonder how they intend to get sponsors? I do not see a middle of the road, non political company wanting to advertise there.
