You have to admit, it does show that Biden isn't serious about curbing inflation. Like I said, the rate hikes are more about scaring white collar workers back into the office among other things.
Unless, like me, it is in the employment agreement stating I am full time remote.

People need to renegotiate their employment agreement if they truly want to be full time remote.

Reason for the rally is because the UN wants the Fed to stop raising rates. UN Heads must be mad about their investments going down.

I am not sure they will get their wish.

I had to lol @ the UN. Where were they when we spent our way to $30 TRILLION in debt?

So I guess reckless spending and money printing is cool, but charging interest on it is not?

Well it looks like bad news is good news for US market futures ahead of Tuesday's open carrying over from Monday's big rise. Apparently US manufacturing data is weak which makes the markets think the Fed may ease off on interest rates someday. And that's causing stock futures to currently be up. Edit: And up by a lot not just a few points, the Nas futures up well over 200 and Dow futures well over 300 up. But over 5 hours to go until the open so that could all change.

<-- Feeling quite proud for calling the market's late September local minimum way back in June.

<-- Feeling quite sad that I only moved 1/5th of the money that I had hoped to move at that local minimum. I just need to learn to trust myself.

This isn't the bottom. At least not until the Fed actually commits to saying they will cut rates, not just hope that they will.

The same exact thing happened back in July.

It's OK to nibble, but I wouldn't go all in either.

This is the "markets always rally into elections, let's cajole and browbeat the Fed by constantly bitching about rates, short covering, dead cat bounce, buy everything" rally.

But I love all the people on CNBC crying over and over for the Fed to turn the money printer back on.

And that's understandable. The Fed (and other central banks) had the world addicted the drug of zero rates for so long...of course there's going to be withdrawal pains. But you don't cure addiction or inflation by giving an addict more crack.

I believe the market has been oversold. Sentiment was terrible. As most here know, as long as fed actions are the center of concern, we're going to continue to see this volatility.

Ooh spicy rumor that Amazon is allegedly freezing corporate hiring in the retail business. This is huge because Amazon has such insanely high turnover that to just maintain headcount they have to constantly hire people. It's like layoffs without the severance packages.

Online savings account just got bumped to 2.25%...moved back over a fat chunk of change that I had sitting in my brokerage account that I was waiting to dump into some indexes at the first sign of a rebound. Need to get that sweet, sweet interest.

Looked and one of the banks I'm using gives 2.75% 12-month, 2.99% 18-month, and 3.10% 24-month CDs. The 12-month one is tempting. Worst case scenario, I just borrow against it for a few bucks if I need to invest immediately (this is where talking to the banker not the teller comes in handy). I'll only do this if the stock market keeps increasing.

The main argument against what you posted there is that triple dips are infrequent. You have the group of investors who thought the market was overvalued and sold from January to June. Then you have the second group of investors who realized too late and didn't want to sell low, so they held out and sold in August and Sept. Who makes up the third group that were asleep the last 10 months and suddenly decide to sell? It can happen. But double dips are by far the most common occurrence, not triple dips.

People who were losing confidence that the money printer would be turned back on soon.

There's nothing technical about this. The market is way overvalued without the money printer.

Many other companies are instituting hiring freezes which slows turnover at Amazon.

I look at the two day rally we've had as bad news buffers for days like today.
